Help lost Canadian citizenship card
 

I just arrived in China last week. I guess since i was in a bit of rush, i either lost, or got my citizenship card stolen. (i place my citizenship card, and some other random cards in a little card wallet)..

anyways, I still have my canadian passport, but I do not have my citizenship card. I am in Hong Kong now.. Am i at big risk if i lost of citizenship card? Is there anyway I can get a replacement here in Hong Kong now? (im here for 3 more months).. thanks

No, you're not at risk, however, you may be able to replace it by contacting the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong:

You mentioned you are going to be there for 3 months. I would advise to register with the Consulate General of Canada In Hong Kong

Thank you bc duke for your info. I will go there tmmrw to get this shitty ordeal done with. I heard it takes at least a year for the card to be sent... so best to do it now before my passport has to be renewed!

u won't be able to get ur ctizn card @ the consulate general, they can help u get a passport. i had mine last before and it's a pain to get it replaced, you have to get a replacement from CIC. and yes get it before ur passport has expired or else there will be no way for u to get one (actually there is, but it's still a pain, i have done it).

Next time you should leave your citizenship card at home. It's generally not necessary.

man.. sucks to hear that.. but ya.. defintly talk to the consulate and see what they can do for you..
