Car remotes

Damn that show me your keys thread made me jealous!!!

Neways, I've been wanting to get a remote for my car, just because it looks really 14 dolla balla when i'm standing on the street turning my key in the door, and same for opening the trunk...

So I looked on best buy and XS cargo, XS cargo sold out doesn't have nething, and best buy "none of them are the price I want to pay"

well something like this sounds reasonable ($70 for 2 remotes?)
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...15&catid=22514

I don't know what the pricing is on these sorts of things, but If i were to get one of those compustar fancy 2 way kits and an extra fob it would cost almost $400

Also want to know what the installation process is, should i just get the place to do it for me, depends how much it is I guess, And the car does have power locks but no power trunk release, is that a problem? should i just go for the doors?

Thanks

also just checked N-motion but the installation fees are so pricey! and the PDF is confusing
http://nmotionauto.com/N-Motion%20Pr...0-%20Alarm.jpg

ie: is $20 the price for pins or a siren?

well$100 for installation isn't that expensive and if I pick up one of those compustars for $90 seems reasonable.

so around $200 to get it done altogether at N-motion? hmm... is that the right price or should I keep looking, Cause I know compustar is a decent brand so maybe I should be looking at even cheaper stuff,

Go to either Soundworks look for Will
or go to Sounds Good and look for Mike

both are RS sponsors and great people to deal with!

does ur car come with power locks?
if not, u'll have to get actuators installed as well in order for the locks to work with a remote

It does have power locks so that makes it half livable, because I'm an L and always have a passenger, so I don't have to unlock both doors

One thing I like about my stock remote is that unlocks the drivers door at first unlock press, and all doors at the 2nd one.

With my compustar it unlocks all at the same time. Kinda noisy, and wearing out my locks.
