But i've always wondered by "Dick" is the shorthand version of "Richard".
Historical reference perhaps?
My real name is Nicholas but I go by Nick because its shorter to say.. Plus they're relevant in terms of sound as well.. but how does Richard and Dick sound alike?
I'd be fine with "Rich" but.... DICK.. .wth

I think the filipino names like Cherry Pie, Girl, and Princess are weirder. Like wtf who names their kid "Girl" (legit person my mom knows).
