WTF pricing from fido
 

so i was looking for the new iphone 3gs pricing and plans, as i came across this!

Can someone tell me why a new 16gb iphone is $20 cheaper than a 8gb


And a "refreshed" one is $50 cheaper!?!?!?

ya saw this yesterday i was confused ...

but according to the saleswoman at wireless wave in RC that I asked on saturday, the price for a 16gb is $300, shoulda showed her this!

this is why i hate working for fido...

the ones who put this shit up on the site, then we have retard customers coming to us complaining...

Refreshed = Refurbished

Fido is offloading their discontinued iPhones and and refurbished iPhones. When the iPhone 3G S drops pricing will be as follows... 3G 8gb $99, 3G S 16gb $199, 3G S 32gb $299.

^thats not the point, because even refurbished 16gb is cheaper than 8gb!

i know.... im thinking the reason the 16gb refurb is cheaper than the 8gb is because fido has overstock and they are discontinued anyways, there is no more 16gb 3G come june 19th.

also the other reason why i could see the 8gb still being more is because technically it would still be a current item come june 19th. the 8gb 3G will be the only current 3G model offered by apple. im not sure if apple will be changing the model number or packaging of the 8gb 3G come june 19th, as far as i know the only difference would be that new shipments would have version 3.0 firmware.

apple needs to take it easy with releasing new ipods and iphones

They won't!! Apple is going to be releasing new models every year just like the iPods. It's kind of a bad thing for existing clients but it's a great thing for them as a company. They are doing crazy r&d and just showcasing a product draws a huge crowd, plus it makes u want to trade in your 1 year old iPhone/iPod and get a new.

I wanna trade my 2g in bad for a 3gs, same games and everything but the camera is so much more useful

i have a 1st gen iphone that i use in the US and a 3G as my main canadian phone. i want a 3GS really bad too. mostly for the 32GB storage as i always find the need to delete my favorite albums off my 8GB to fit new tunes that i am checking out. the new features are really cool too but the only new ones over the 3G are voice control, better camera, compass (improves maps a lot!), and faster cpu with more memory. these are great upgrades but not enough for me to sign a new contract or shell out $700. if you think that the 3GS is great then imagine was apple has in store for 2010. or how about a 4G version of the iphone, video calling 64+GB storage, maybe a 1Ghz cpu and nvidia graphics???

I say next version (after 3gs I mean) will be a minor revision of the 3gs. It will be what the 3g is to the 2g.

I'm waiting until the 5g to upgrade if its gets better

Fido is trying to get rid of their 16GB 3G stock before the 3Gs comes....there is no 8GB 3Gs, so there's no reason to blow them out.
