Bike Tune Ups and Brake Replacements Just picked up a used 2005 Specialized Hardrock Comp Disc  what a difference in quality between a real bike and a sportschek bike :D now, since i got it used, i want to get it tuned up and checked out before i continue riding. also, the rear brakes are 90% woren out. they are disc brakes, is it possible to just change the brake pad? or do i have to change the whole rotor? i need recommendations of bike shops that do a good job. am i looking at ~$50 for a all check up? and how much should i expect to have my rear brakes fixed? here are some pics of what i am talking about. :D http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/DSC04641.jpg http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/DSC04643.jpg http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/DSC04645.jpg |
I think this has already been covered... dunbar cycles or bike doctor came up alot !! =) do a search |
When you go in, ask if you can watch how they change it as it's really simple to do. Then for future replacements, you can do it your self in 15 minutes and not have to pay for labor :) |
