It's from Canon but the techniques are the same.

Not an on-line course, but they seem to be quite decent for the newbie. Good pricing, I think.

Awesome guys. I'm buying other shit today; anyone know if the cheapo Polarizing filters on eBay are any good? Technically they should do the same thing as making something polarized really doesn't cost a lot.

I'm pretty sure that most people are going to come in here and say cheap filters aren't worth your money.

This is another great one from Canon - based on the Rebel XT, but again, the basics are all the same...

From the Canon forums, but it works with all cameras so... enjoy!

And yes, cheap eBay filter shit is not worth buying.

I have a 58mm Kenko Pro1D slim polarizing filter that you can have cheap if you want.

You won't notice much in the way of optics, although you may notice some uneven areas of unsharpness. You'll notice more flaring, ghosting & Newton Rings with cheap filters. They are also not made to be very durable.

that also depends on what lens you are using tho. the better lens demands better filter

ROFL man Lilaznviper I sooooo love your reply~~~!!

the thing you are losing with cheap filter on expensive lens is the IQ(Sharpness) in the end result.

when you are spending 1-2k on lens just for that sharpness, would you want to cheap out on that $100 filter money and make that lens back to a $500 range lens?

that's why some people demand the absolute quality in filter. they've spend all that much on the lens already, might as well drop that little more for the guarantee

Filters aren't specific to SLRs... they're just more common there.
