All the problems are minor, 3rd gear doesn't grind unless its going pretty fast, not city speeds.
As far as the shock goes, I don't really notice that problem, but my brother who is a mechanic says one of the rears is busted. I'll trust him on that but it's really not a big deal. Maybe I'll get a tokico kit or something.
^after 21 years you'd hope that none of the shocks have ever been changed,
and considering it has a rebuilt engine that they did and has less than 5000km on it, you'd expect the engine/drivetrain should be pretty good.
Thanks though, I'll get that syncro fixed since a powertrain warranty should cover a syncro. It's they're fault for not inspecting it well enough, I'll try to squeeze this out of 'em,
I've been shopping around for exhausts from crappy tire to overseas auto, I was just gonna buy a nice aftermarket one neways, |
Here, I've never bought anything off of the Z store, as I've got a Z32 (we have specialty stores), but check these out: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEC26/15-6314 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PSDC02C/23-3989 |

Morrey does suck... having been there at one point in my life...
too much internal conflict as well.
They usually take the nice cars out, rip them around, and have their way with them before selling as well
good luck on the car, but honestly, that old, and you expect everything to be 100%?

biggest issue is indeed the syncro.. they'd just swap your tranny for a used one from wrecker...
but yep, its a 21yr old car. what'd u expect? i'd been through much much worse.... T_T

^^ hehe i guess you could call it preOWNED
But yeah I actually still like the car and never hated the dealership, but maybe If I can squeeze something of them it's a win for me. But I'm not taking this too seriously neways, The 3rd gear syncro I don't really mind, I'm not planning to race this car and it's fine for city driving
LOL Ikkaku we have to swap the engine out of your dad's jeep into this thing that things bulletproof!

You probably bought a vehicle that was just going to be sold off to wholesale. Wholesale vehicles are sold AS IS, and so you're SOL.

Technicians at most dealerships will usually do a short road test on the vehicles that they do safety inspections on. Mostly drive around the block & will hardly take those cars up to a highway speed. It's just not so cool to see a technician book it down the highway with a dealer plate on. That's probably why they didn't feel the 3rd gear problem during a road test?
When u buy a car, u should really talk to the sales guys/private seller and find out what exactly is covered after u bought the vehicle. Always make sure if the car is still covered under manufacturer's warranty if it's a newer car. For a 88' model the owner MUST shop carefully & stay sharp with all these warranty stuff.
I think it's safer to buy vehicle from a dealership with good background(OpenRoad/Morrey) coz I don't think they will keep the car if it's in such a bad shape. It cost the sales guys to fix up the car, and they aren't even sure if they can get that money back by selling the car. PLUS they will never wanna end up with an angry customer.
They just won't run it like one of those used car lot on Kingsway coz they care about their reputation.

To be honest the car isn't in such bad shape besides the exhaust, everything is pretty decent/livable, on my test drive I couldn't even notice the 3rd gear syncro, you really have to be going pretty fast to get it.
At least this opens me up to the whole customization scene.

An older model car just can't take much abuse anymore. U gotta put a lot of work into it to make it runs nice & strong!
