Upgrade from 3G iPhone Hey, i'm getting rid of my 3G iPhone. Want to upgrade to something newer and fancier. Here's what i need in a cell phone: 1) 3G 2) Wi-Fi 3) Decent Camera 4) GPS 5) Awesome display (for example, a AMOLED screen) I'd LOVE to get the Sony Ericsson Satio (Idou) http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pics/sony...e-idou-001.jpg http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pics/sony...e-idou-000.jpg http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pics/sony...e-idou-002.jpg But, it's not available in CND I would also like to get the Samsungi8910 Omnia HD http://img.gsmarena.com/vv//pics/sam...omniahd-00.jpg http://img.gsmarena.com/vv//pics/sam...omniahd-01.jpg But it's too much $$$ ($930) I'd like something very fancy/sofisticated, but obviously not something like the Nikon 8800 Carbon Arte, which is priced through the roof: http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pics/noki...bon-arte-1.jpg Any suggestions?? PS: dont' really care about the style (clam,slider...) nor do i care if it has a full QWERTY key board |
lol the satio is a sony ericsson not samsung i recommend n97! and the omnia hd is out.. isn't it? if not it should be out soon (Within the month |

Yes, i like the N97, but it's twice the price of an iPhone. I'm not willing to spend THAT much. (close to $1000 for a cell phone) |
the omnia hd is for sale at acegsm http://acegsm.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=264 but its pretty expensive too |
I was looking at the Palm Pre, but where can i buy one? How much? |
pre's not out yet. soon though... |
pre OS isn't very good... it's a good idea and concept.. but it's so new that it's relatively unstable... i'd stay away until the next gen of palm that use that OS.. or at least until they getupdates... hmm... 3GS? lol |

however.. i'll give you more iphones than cars lol hahahaha |
thoughts on OS and UI between HTC (Microsoft) vs. Blackberry vs. SE vs. Samsung??? I've been reading A LOT on gsmarena but i'd love to have some 1st hand experience reviews |
The are a lot of phones out there that offer better looking designs or features than the iPhone but none of the OS's or user interfaces are as fluid and easy to use. To me nothing feels as polished as the iPhone OS, the whole experience with the AppStore, music store, and dev community is something that you will never find on another phone. Sorry but Apple has once again cornered the market just like they did with the iPod. The only competitor to stand a chance is RIM because of Blackberry Exchange Servers. If u want something different then be different, get a cool case for your iPhone that is not that popular in Canada. Or check out Gelaskins.com. The best thing to do is save your money and get the new iPhone that Apple will release in 2010. You know they are going to release one every year just like the iPods. |
Maybe you should try going for a japanese phone ^^; |
maybe you should not try japanese phones because most of them do not have wifi, or gps for vancouver ^^; |
Bumping this thread since I am in same situation as OP. Looking for an upgrade from iPhone 3g. Camera on the iPhone is just pure junk. The screen on my iPhone is also messed up. Quote:
I've always love japanese phones but now that I have the 6gb data plan, I want to put it to good use. (the reason why I stopped using my oldschool 903/904sh for iPhone) I've been looking into the n97 and the Samsung Omnia HD. Only thing is that they a quite pricey. |
i want to upgrade my iphone 3g too. I like all the new hardware feature on these new fancy phone sadly none of them has the app store like iphone which mean i will be bore of it in a week. i wish apple app store is cross platform lol. |
I gotta get a new phone asap and im doing my homework between the Pre and 3GS. Never had an iphone before but I am sure I would like it. I like the multitasking you can do with a Pre, but after playing with a demo today its pretty slow compared to 3GS to bring up a different browser. Also worried that since the Pre is a new thing that applications wont be as good as the iphone. Will prob go for a 3gs if i can find one in stock somewhere. |
