can a Bell N97 be unlocked so it's compatible for GSM ?
Or I can already use it on any GSM carrier, such as Rogers?

Yes, it can be unlocked. It's identical to any other N97-3 NAM, just locked to Bell, I'm assuming.

I saw Mobile DNA at Lansdowne selling the N97 on a new activation with Bell for $49.99 as a boxing week special. I cringed

I think the promo said they were waiving the activation fee too.

Take my advice.

Never ever, EVER EVER try to change an N97's housing by yourself. A couple of broken parts and parts left in the old housing later....I give you this lol

(I'll be seeing JP Cellular soon HAHAHA)

Only when there are a lot of apps open. Other than that, there is no lag for me. v20 firmware on my N97-3.

What is considered a lot? My ram is usually 38mb free at startup, I'm on the new firmware and installed the C: re-organizer but didn't yield that much extra free space.

I have my nimbuzz, music player, email widget open always. The homescreen, widget UI, messaging "app" do those really count? I have taskman to check whats open. Ram is fine until I do some heavy browsing on the opera mobile, hogs the system then it will be at the limit pretty much.
