!Aznboi128 07-20-2009 11:52 AM

^ i got mine from newegg as well
can't go wrong with newegg.ca with a full yr warranty if something does go wrong

incubus 07-20-2009 03:06 PM

how long did it take to ship out to u guys from new egg thnx

vl_86 07-20-2009 11:46 PM

^i believe it said 7-10 days

yeah a full year of warranty is good, but the bad thing is that you need a US shipping address in order to use the warranty

Was just about to buy one from cellworldco with their extended store warranty (since Nokia will likely not honour the manufacturer's cause of no receipt), but they didn't have the colour i wanted in stock

I'm considering buying the extended store warranty cause they told me, they will try to fix it and if they can't they will give me a new unit, which sounds good and I would save the hassle of having to send it to Nokia and costs about the same so why not do it locally right?

...then something struck me to search up cellworldco here on RS, WOW...the negative experiences from members, albeit from 06/07  :(

Can anyone comment on their recent post-sales experiences there regarding service, defective units, repairs or extended store warranty? I'm really feeling hesitant from buying from them now. :blueguy:

kayceeee 07-24-2009 04:28 PM

i havent got the warranty thing from cellworld but i did previous buy a p990i from them previously didnt have any problems with them

clowe 07-24-2009 04:49 PM

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem if you don't need to go back to them for repairs and whatnot but I'm just worried that I will need to go back to them cause being the 1st batch of N97's, theres potentially many problems (especially with my luck) such as camera lens scratching causing flash flooding, speakerphone problematic, apps freezing/bricking the phone, etc.

If their repair takes months to a year, it might not be such a good idea getting repairs from them or buying their extended store warranty.

I'm probably over thinking a bit, I apologize, but if I'm shelling out $760 for a phone, I'd just like some peace of mind that it will be serviceable to me for at least a year instead of being dead after 2 weeks and stuck in repairs for a year like some members experienced :o

incubus 07-24-2009 05:02 PM

yeah i feel the same clowe

but i did call cellworld co asking price and etc and the guy on the fone took more than 5 mins so i hung up lol

i got my n97 from cellworld.. everythings been fine so far.. they offered me the extended warranty but I just paid with visa so I got a proof of purchase incase I ever wanted need to ship back to nokia (id rather be able to send it to nokia then cellworld after what I read about them)

clowe 07-24-2009 07:31 PM

^ I think I may do that same, not worth the headache if I have to go through cellworldco's repair. The white one at newegg is 799 while the Black one is still on sale for 699 :mad::mad: I want the white one!! :haha:

Can anyone confirm this? I tried asking a rep at newegg and they couldn't give me an answer and NokiaUSA is closed for the day. It would suck if we paid an extra $80+ to go legit and get a proof of purchase only to be denied by NokiaUSA for warranty :p

after some searching...

NokiaUSA phone warranty

Part 2-3 - "The limited warranty extends only to Consumers who purchase the Product in the United States of America"

Since newegg is US based, that counts right? :D

I'll definitely give NokiaUSA a call before I buy lol

alex.w *// 07-25-2009 10:26 AM

i actually like buying phones from cell world. the prices are much cheaper than elsewhere for some phones.

I just buy it, pay cash and leave

x1i, when it first came out

vl_86 07-27-2009 07:48 PM

umm i just got the n97 like 10 minutes ago and i'm fiddling around with it.
For you guys that already have the n97, when you press a key is there a weird buzz vibrating sound for the touch screen or does it just need some getting used to?

+Kardboard+ 07-27-2009 09:13 PM

I just got mine today and I have the same. Takes getting used to, I guess. It sounds like the vibrate motor is not very snug inside the phone.

vl_86 07-27-2009 09:17 PM

and also you guys know how to disable 3G? not too sure if i'm on it right now, haha

but so far i'm loving the phone

Strike007 07-27-2009 11:47 PM

What where you guys quoted at cellworld for? Did anyone get a better price they could share with the RS community lol? Last bit of researching before I buy my phone~
Thanks.
PS: PM is ok =)

vibrator motor on the n97 is ass.

i've been playing around with 4 brand new ones, and they all have the same problem.
