Holy buttfugly came off like a douche in that video... "WHAT UP SHAWTYYYYY" who was he even talking to? The crowd? It's awesome when a black guy doesn't even use his own people's terminology properly...............
Both Toews and Patrick Kane maxed out their bonuses in the last year of their entry-level contract. From the Globe & Mail:
Quote:
Both players maxed out all of their 'A' and ‘B' bonuses this year to push their team over the cap, meaning that while every other team will be working with about a $58.5-million cap next season, Chicago's cap "penalty" will mean a ceiling of closer to $54.5-million.
And the Blackhawks already have $57.6-million in salary commitments with only 14 players signed for next season.
From Puck Daddy:
Quote:
Not among those signed players is Niemi, who backstopped the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup with a 16-6 record, a 2.63 GAA and a .910 save percentage (numbers inflated by his struggle in the Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers). He was streaky in the regular season, but there's no denying his 26-7 record and 2.32 GAA and .912 save percentage.
He'll be 27 this summer, and made $827,000 against the cap last season. So he's due for a slight raise.
Neimi's agent wants a long term deal now. Duncan Keith style 72m over 13 years.

It will be interesting to see how they make everything work. Even with the core locked up, it's hard to make it to the big dance twice in a row. Penns were weaker this year.

Haha management is like, "thanks for helping us win the Cup, but no thanks for screwing up our salary situation. Next time, win the Cup without hitting your bonuses, ok?"

If you can get a couple top 3 picks from the bottom feeding, it could easily shoot you back up the standings like Chicago and Pittsburgh has and make you an even stronger contender for another cup if you can land a couple blue chippers like Kane/Toews
Duncan Keith is a phenom... but after all these interviews I realize what a giant red neck he is

still have a feeling the crosby draft was rigged... during the lock out pittsburgh was bankrupting and SOMEBODY had to save the franchise.
Sidney Crosby "the next one"
even if it was good for it, the pens should be in the league and now look they are now one of the top teams in the league and basically have a new rink. Just thank god the leafs didn't wind up with it LOL
