Byfuglien has already taken his fair share of cheap shots at Luongo in last year's playoffs. Its about time someone lays out one of their stars, clean hit to boot

The Moore hit was not clean whereas the Mitchell hit was. Mitchell didn't have to jump, leave his feet, or elevate his arms. Mitchell hit Toews with his shoulder into Toews chest, square on. Mitchell could have put his shoulder into Toews head to really knock him out, but he didn't.

Moores hit was a head shot, and he left his feet to make the hit.
I don't remember Moore's hit being dirty. If there was any elbow at all, it's because most bodychecks are thrown sideways. To the best of my recollection, I don't remember Moore going into the hit with an elbow out.

Byfuglien is just doing his job, and doing it right might I add. It's our D's job to clear the front of the net or make people pay if they want to establish territory. That's why you see Salo slew footing centres. That area is no man's land unless it's Bieksa.

I'm actually glad one of the commentators finally caught on our weak hits. It seems like most of hits are just done in an effort to finish their checks but really, all their just doing is brushing up against the other players. Good on Willie to step it up. But it speaks on the effort of others.

I think people think it's like the Moore hit on Naslund because it involves the captain. Don Taylor was saying last night - he thinks someone will now go after Mitchell kinda like the Bertuzzi incident. I don't think that will happen. Someone may ask Mitchell to drop the gloves - he will and its all done.

As much as I hate the Hawks - especially Kane. I know I will be cheering for Toews to make team Canada. Good Canadian kid. You see how quick he got up from that hit. Granted he was seeing little birds and wasn't balanced - he got up right away and skated to the bench. He even said - "I had my fucking head down"...

That FAIL buttin is awesome!..lol

You might want to go and watch that hit again. Moore left his feet, hit Naslund in the head and Nassy was leaning forward for the puck.

Not too sure what you mean most body checks are thrown sideways. I know they aren't thrown in reverse.

Hey guys my friend just sent me an email for some charity thing where Trever Linden will be a host - thought you may be interested

Here's the email:

PuCKS Fundraising Gala

Featured guest ~ Trevor Linden

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 @ 6 PM

Langley Events Center

On November 25, 2009 PuCKS is hosting its 3rd Annual Hockey Heroes Champagne Dinner to raise funds to build “hockey-scholars” of children. Beginning at 6 PM, 500 people will enjoy a champagne reception, lavish plated dinner, silent auction, live auction and a fireside chat with former Vancouver Canuck Trevor Linden hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Craig MacEwen. Other hockey legends are also invited ~ stay tuned.

As a director on the PuCKS board, I would like to formally extend to you an invitation to purchase a ticket or a table for this event or donate a silent auction item.

Tickets: $150 each or $1000 per table of 8 - Tax receipts will be issued for $75 per ticket or $600 per table – http://www.langleytickets.com/pucks.aspx

Purchase a Corporate Sponsorship (see attached) ~ 1st Star Sponsors will enjoy an intimate Pre-Reception Event with Trevor - urquhart.darryl@gmail.com

Donate a Silent Auction Item ~ to get your business involved for as little as $100 - cristine_oleskiw@Vancity.com

The PuCKS Powerplay Foundation (Promoting Community through Kids in Sport™ - charity # 84877 0780 RR0001) offers children in financial need, children at-risk and children of newly re-settled refugee & immigrant families the opportunity to progress in life and school by way of hockey. In invite you to watch the online video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWajVBCfw-E. Currently, 90 marginalized children in Langley are being given this chance. Many of these children are participating in 2-4 hours of hockey and 1-3 hours of “Lit-Fit”™ (homework club & literacy program) each week. PuCKS builds kids’ capacities. The program encourages the development of personal assets for success in school, career and life. It reinforces empowerment ~ discouraging entitlement and learned helplessness. It emphasizes selflessness and a giving-spirit.

To the mod - don't know if I am allowed to put it here - so please delete if so.

thanks.

A borderline NHL player in Steve Moore - saw Naslund in a very uncompromising position. With Naslund's head so low he took the opporrunity to nail him. It's not outright a cheap hit. The fact that it was a 4th liner hitting our captain is what makes it not sit right with me.

I feel for you there, seriously. But in all fairness, is it fair to have an in-game social heirarchy? Like should there be an unwritten code that team superstars or captans should be exempt from physical contact.

I respect your opinion otherwise but in my own personal opinion, it seems so unhockeylike to me.

After watching that Mitchell on Toews hit I youtubed the hit that Stevens pretty much ended Eric Lindros' career with and it isn't even close. The Mitchell hit is way more violent, I'm surprised Toews got up at all.

Nope, and deservedly so. The NHL isn't hard enough on intent to injure these days.

Man, that video still makes me sick. It was a good thing the entire team went and defended Brashear.
