^ Oh, I live streamed that game. It was crystal clear for live streaming standards.
I full screened it on my monitor and it looked amazing. Saw that goal happen too.
Horrible. Two more quick goals after that one too.

It's too far of a reach.
When Toews comes back and is never the same person again, basically Kariya'd, then I'll eat my words. But if he comes back to form, then you'll have to bend over for any further conflicting opinions we both will have. (Since you feel overly so strongly about your opinion over mine).
Seriously, I think people are reading wayyy too much with the fact Toews stumbled back to his bench. It was a great hit, no argument there, but h'es still far from being Lindros'ed, Kariya'd, or Naslund'. <--- Refute that.
I give you a FAIL rep just because you just don't get it. It's not exclusively about concussions. It's about the comparisons it has been made with. | Being 9 years old and 21 years old. Yes age will make a difference.
A 21 versus a 27 year old. No. Like SumAznGuy basically said, you're head isnt going to lose 4 inches of concussion proof armor plating around it just because you are 6 years younger

I'm shocked at the run the Avs are having right now. They might go 7-1 if they win tonight.

Oh shit.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_AZmIriAHU Quote:
Tucker was checked into the boards by Carolina forward Tuomo Ruutu(notes) as he tried to play the puck in the Hurricanes’ end at 14:34 of the second period.
Tucker’s face hit the glass hard and he fell to the ice on his back unconscious. He lay motionless for several minutes as Avalanche doctors and trainers attended to him, bringing a hush to both benches and the crowd.

Ruutu has always been a dirty player. It's just that we loved him when he was a Canuck.
Uncalled for and I hope he gets a suspension...at least a few games.

Uncalled for and I hope he gets a suspension...at least a few games. | That was his brother Tuomo, Jarko is in Ottawa. Tuomo is best known for getting injured.

Tuomo loves to hit but some of his hits are questionable and borderline dirty. I assume this hit will get him a suspension but I wonder for how long.

A 21 versus a 27 year old. No. Like SumAznGuy basically said, you're head isnt going to lose 4 inches of concussion proof armor plating around it just because you are 6 years younger | What I'm specifically speaking of is that there's more behind the number of an age than just the phsyical differences between a 2 people of varying age. Mathematically the higher the age, the more likely the accumulation of injury. There was a time when Lindros can dish and take hits but in time, it all adds up. Its likelier with Toews age that his injury repertoire would not be anything similar of Lindros' when he took the hit from Stevens.
Yes concussions can have very severe effects on a person of any age but its not always the "Kiss of Death" like SumAznGuy would like to make it seem. What people seem to ignore to account for is that people have varying tolerances to injury or pain. Mathematically speaking, I'd bank more on the chances of a younger guy withstanding an injury rather than that of an older man.
I guess the closest metaphorical word I can find right now is that in a sense mileage. And everybody feels it eventually one way or another.

I guess the closest metaphorical word I can find right now is that in a sense mileage. And everybody feels it eventually one way or another. | Let's get things straight. You are comparing a hard hitting, bodychecking power forward Lindros after his 6th recorded concussion against a 21 year old finness play making scorer in Towes after his first concussion. That is a very good comparison about the effects of a concussion.
I never said or implied that a concussion is a "kiss of death" that you claim. FAIL for reading comprehension there.
So what does tolerance to injury or pain have to do with concussions. First off, not all concussions are the same. When Lindros got his first recorded concussion, was it to the same degree that Towes is at? Assuming they were, just because Towes is 21, there isn't any proof that his brain will heal slower or faster than the 27 year old Lindros who missed 20 games. And who is to say Lindros was completely fine before he returned to the ice. If you watched that video link I added earlier, you will see what I am getting at.
My point is that to say "a younger player will shake off an injury sooner than an older player" is not correct when we are talking about a concussion.
And we are talking about concussions, not normal injuries which somehow you ventured off to.
One more thing, I used "recorded" concussions because we all know how well parent coaches are at diagnosing concussions when we were kids. Everyone has the same attitude as you. Shake it off and continue to play.

Noir, SAG - PM your concussion talk pls.
I for one, am stoked Demitra is done. Gives us some cash to play with in a deal for Cory Schnieder + a defenseman. We could bring in true first liner to play with the Sedins, or demote them and give us what could very well be the best 2nd line in the NHL.
A lot of teams would love a goalie with Schnieders potential, especially with a minimal cap hit. If that doesn't happen, 4M is enough to bring in someone with our offensive output than Pavol.
