Marquee for the entire team would be Lu. Offensively I think most people would say Sedins, though I don't agree with that. Kesler would be up there but not marquee.

I don't understand how some people talk to negative about their spots teams. Man I always look for the postive especially the beg of the season. The Canucks have been skateing on a thread for some time now with all of the injurys we have had. We have been lucky and should be happy so far, not acting like the season is over cause the injuries are finally catching up to us.

What this team needs (and one I've long been waiting for) is a bonafide "finesse" player. But unless we luck out on the draft or we luck out on a big-time trade, I don't really see it happening for the franchise for many years to come.
You know its really bad when your team's best "finesse" player is Wellwood.

Sick Canucks travel on commercial flights
VANCOUVER (CBC) - The Vancouver Canucks have confirmed that players sick with the flu or other illnesses are banned from the team's chartered aircraft and must fly home or on to the next city by commercial airlines.
"If anyone gets the flu, they're separated, they're isolated," Lorne Henning, the NHL team's assistant general manager told CBC News.
The team policy was applied twice in the past week, when Canuck winger Steve Bernier came down with chills and dizziness on the road. It was believed to be seasonal flu, not swine flu, and he was put on a commercial flight with the rest of the travelling public.
"We wouldn't do anything to jeopardize anyone else," Henning said. "It was just the normal flu."
When asked about the Canucks' approach to sick players, B.C.'s provincial health officer said he did not think it was a good idea.
"I would certainly not recommend to any hockey team that they take sick players out of private planes and put them on commercial flights," Dr. Perry Kendall said.
"It would be far better if they put the player on their team flight, put a mask on their player, and made sure no one was sitting next to him."
Henning said this was not something the Canucks would do.
"If we felt there was any situation where he wasn't feeling well, or the other guys were exposed, we certainly wouldn't take him with us, and certainly wouldn't put him on with a mask."
The team has not yet had swine flu shots, avoiding the queue-jumping criticism last week that plagued two other Lower Mainland hockey teams, the Abbotsford Heat and the Chilliwack Bruins.
In October, an Alberta health official was fired for approving swine flu shots for the NHL's Calgary Flames.
Henning said the Canucks would get seasonal flu shots when they return from their current road trip and wait for swine flu vaccinations until they are available to the general public.

I'm waiting for Canucks to get someone explosive-like. Like a Gaborik, Kovalchuk, etc.
Last time Canucks had someone like that was Bure.
Well... I guess a reliable sniper like Naslund (when he was at his peak) would be good too.
But Canucks don't have either one right now. Daniel Sedin doesn't count, cause to me, he's still just a 30 goal scorer.
I don't want to bash either Sedins. But Canucks don't have the players for a cup contending team.

Nazzy dont come close to bure even at nazzy's best
and yes..i like the twins, but they are not that gamebreaker type of player.
look at kovalchuk 2nite, made a big difference.
as for Lu...cant say choker, but Zetteberg beat him sorta like how douchebag kane beat him in the playoffs
backhand top shelf. pretty tough move to pull off. Most goalies will not anticipate a shot like that to be roofed sooo high up in the corner.
but the nucks 2nite were better as a team
and it seems like Danny's not ognna be back for awhile

Mr. Forsberg,
please come to Vancouver and save us from the team we have become.
Our inability to score goals was a problem when we were winning and now it has become a crisis.
Please use that one working ankle of yours and score some goals. Take some attention away from our checkers so they have room to hit, grind and hopefully put 28 pucks in the back of the net (aka Burrows).
At the same time, bring along your friends if you like. We also have room for your friends who once played for us, Sundin and Naslund. They are welcomed back with open arms. If you have a brother or any other friends that would like to come, please tell them to come to our fabulous city. I am sure your friends can muster more than 1 point in 20 games.
Finally, your presence will be felt in our city. Jerseys with your awesome name in the back will be worn by Canuckers and the gastroamount of revenue our owner Mr. Aquilini will generate will make him a very happy man. If he's happy, you are happy. If you are happy, we are happy. When we are happy, we win. When we win, Vancouver is happy. When Vancouver is happy, it doesn't matter if we wait another 40 yrs to win cup!
thx, i apologize for my rant lol.. i'm bored in class listening to a guest speaker who went to prison a few yrs ago for first degree murder

It's just a matter of time. I have not lost faith in them. It is frustrating to watch them at times. I didn't mind the loss yesterday. The blow out before that was pathetic.
They will bounce back.

They will bounce back. | That's the thing with this Canucks team. When people are ready to write them off, myself included, they'll pull out a 5 game winning streak out of nowhere. Then, just when people are ready to put them in the cup finals, they flop to a Wild or a Panthers.
I've learned watching the Canucks, you just go with the flow, take the ups and downs, peaks and valleys as they come and never write them off nor have them winning the cup...

Guys, it was a 3-1 but really 2-1 game against the best team in the league for the past 15 years. Calm down. If anything, it was a bounce back from the 6-1 pathetic showing they had against St. Louis, which was just a terrible game. Last night wasn't bad. Sure, they are lacking something serious without Daniel and some of our more skill players need to step up but it wasn't a terrible game.

i find the biggest problem with this team is motivation to show up every night. these are supposed to be professional athletes and it seriously looks like they half ass it now and again.

One thing I've noticed is they never have a drive to win. I mean even when St. Louis was a shitty team they managed to beat us almost every time we played them. It seems every team in the NHL (aside from the Canucks) whether they have skill or not tries to win, plays with intensity, and passion. The Canucks on the other hand show those characteristics some times but other times it looks like they just woke up after a week of binge drinking.

I'm sure you consider yourself a "professional" in whatever you do for a living, but I'm also pretty sure that you're not always motivated in your job either.
Our game-breaker is Luongo. Remember the Crow-WCE days? Sure we scored a lot of goals, but Cloutier was a sieve when it counted. Does anyone want a return to those days? I sure don't.
For those that remember the Pavel Bure-Quinn years, those teams largely underachieved considering the talent we had. We made it to the finals only once when really, we should have gone 3- rounds deep in 3 or 4 seasons. We're only 20 games into the season - they haven't been great, but they haven't been really bad. Let's keep things in perspective.

the thing is
the loss of danny is catching up to them
when the players hurt, the team steps up and plays tighter, but soon enuff, the flaw will show and thus why theres only 3 goals scored for the past 3 games

Is Danny really that important? he cant be the only reason why we're losing
It's not like he scores 2 goals every game. We still have players that should be able to contribute offensively, they're just not doing it lately. Kesler, Samuelsson, Burrows, Bernier, Wellwood, Salo

as much as I want Yzerman to stay in detroit, I say Fire Gillis and Hire Yzerman. we need a GM that has the balls to pull big moves. I am not saying that Gillis is bad. I am satisfied with what Gillis has done with the team. Another superstar forward would be nice
