taylor pyatt must be so happy at phx right now .. lol
im actually looking forward to january ( the cursed month )
if they kept playing like this then we're done.
canucks players pissed me off sometimes, once awhile they will play a dominating game 7-2 and scored 3/5 PP ... but they cant score in the critical moment ...Scoring goal is good, but please score at the needed moment

I agree, the Canucks are pissing away points and the sad thing is the Canucks have had ZERO OT loses this season and I think we've gone to OT like 2 times? That's not a good sign and looking at the standings right now it's going be a tough fight to get into the playoffs. One extended losing streak in Jan and kiss our chances goodbye.

the province was right about there not being a clutch player stepping up and scoring when needed. things are not looking good at this point. |

Not having any "loser points" is ok if you can tie it up in regulation and win in OT or the shootout.
But we're often losing 1-goal games, or winning by a large margin, which aren't signs of a strong team that is capable of winning big games against competitive opponents.

A team like Dallas has gone to overtime something like 12 times this season. Of those 12 games, they've won maybe 2 or 3. So they get the charity point in the other games. I know those losers points have helped the Canucks in the past, but I would like to see the winning team get 3 points and the losing team get 0 points.

The best mustache in sports is making a return to the Canucks! http://canucks.nhl.com/club/page.htm...id=van-more-cr
After retiring from the NHL in 1999, former Vancouver Canucks defencemen Dave Babych returns to the organization he spent seven seasons with as an assistant to Dave Gagner, director of player personnel.
"I'm excited about it,” explained Babych. "I'll be working with some of the prospects. It won't be a lot of on-ice stuff right now. I'm just going to follow some of the prospects through the year."
The Edmonton, Alberta native and two time NHL all star, was drafted second overall in 1980 by the Winnipeg Jets. Babych, 48, spent seven seasons with Vancouver from 1991-1998 and remains the Canucks 11th highest scoring defencemen in franchise history with 23 goals and 131 assists (23-131-154) in 409 games with the club.
“We just wanted an extra set of eyes and a voice,” said General manager Mike Gillis.
“We don’t have a lot of defencemen on our coaching staffs, here or in Manitoba. He’s joining us on a part-time basis. He will work mostly with Dave in understanding where our defence prospects are and creating a course of action for them. He’ll watch them and provide advice based on his experience.”

I was just watching the Lightnings and Oilers and saw Ohlie there.
man.. maybe Ohlie can help anchor our Defense instead of Beksuck.
yeah, Ohlie is a step slower but he's got the experience and gets the shots through.. AND.. plays with more passion.
BTW, if you are free from finals.. go watch the caps vs sabres (NHL CENTRE ICE).. the first period was some entertaining hockey. In 5 mins... both teams traded chances and had like 4 odd man rushes back and forth...

Hate it or love it.. I somehow see the Laffs making the playoffs this year if the stay healthy...Having Kessel in the lineup makes a difference as the opposition has to play their best D against him... thus opening up for Blake/Ponikarovski/Grabovski... now..if they only had a true #1 goalie..
I wonder if the people who said that Kessel would be a bust even before he played is still thinking that way |

anyone see Byfuglien's OT goal against the rangers?
he was in his own zone, skated outside the defenseman, slashed by Gaborik and still managed to score on Lundqvist.
Dam.. as much as I hate him.. he showed more wheels than 3/4 of the Canucks.
I wonder if the Canucks watch the other teams play and study their philosophy.. I mean... the games today were all back and forth with scoring changes everywhere.
I wish we can see more of that here...
looks like the only scoring chances we'll see is opposing teams attacking our useless D
