schneider didn't really do as much as i suppose gillis thought he might (especially on the PP), so i'm not surprised he's been a healthy scratch so many games.
edit: +1 to samuelsson's rep lol..

Sportsnet has learned that Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis is working the phones in an attempt to trade 40-year old defenceman Mathieu Schneider.
| This so does not make sense. He brought him in purposefully for depth as losing Defensemans down the Play Off Stretch is what turned around our successful looking Play Off last season.
Schneider was never meant to replace our top 4 but reinforce it. He's supposed to be the franchise's Plan B should we lose Salo for stretches within the season. |

edit: +1 to samuelsson's rep lol.. | Actually it's more like -10 to his rep. And he's not a badass, he's a whiner. I know he must feel pretty dejected about it and while he may not agree with the decision, that's hardly the kind of response a pro athlete should have. Would you really want someone on your team where if he isn't picked his first thought is "Well fuck you then." ?? Talented as he may be, that's just a poor attitude.

He's a veteran player, he should be a role model to the younger players but instead he's complaining and making a huge deal because he's sitting out games. Imo he's a cancer waiting to spread and fucking up team chemistry so hopefully he doesn't rejoin the team.

for sure edler > murray
others similar types like edler
He would be a great fit, but every team needs a balance of a good shutdown core with some guns, edler just doesn't quite fit if u look at the selected d core.
Its the same reason why guys like mike green and brian campbell are on the outside looking in for canada
Ohlund is a shutdown guy rather than edler's finesse D
Samuelsson...bahhh
Huseilius is lazy like thornton..not say that both players are not effective, but the fact is that both of them are not active without the puck, in a sense that both these players don't skate hard. Gaurantee, the few games that they decide to skate is when they have have more success on getting on the score sheet or help their linemates get on the score sheet
nazzy should be the 13th forward
but u kno...the swedes are goin with experience rather than youth
so anything makes sense
honestly tho, I dont really see a problem with the swedish team. becuz of the NHL rink, players should know how to play the game already. Even guys like Weinhandl who has been out of NHL action should adjust fine, hes having some steller years with Dynamo. and he was also the twins' line mate on MODO 10yrs ago
at the same time, theres grit on this swede team unlke the russians
lets see what teams the other countries are going to ice
regardless of watever samuelsson likes it or not, the swedes plan to ice a finesse squad once again
I'm goin to give my own rundown of canada tomolo...

Here is Samuelsson's reply to not being picked: http://www.teamradio.ca/contentfiles...ot%20happy.mp3
I like him more now, because of the emotion he is showing. Hopefully he uses that as motivation to rip it up on the Canucks. I would be choked too! Was on the team in 06 so I see where he's coming from!

The "This so does not make sense" was my response to the quote of Gillis looking to unload Schneider because it doesn't make sense.
Schneider was a depth signing to reinforce our D for the games MG anticipates we lose Salo to injury, which we will. He was a depth signing, not a replacement signing like losing Ohlund in lieu of Erhoff.
Your post was part of the multi-quote for continuity of discussion as you were a participant of the Schneider topic; since this thread can be an all encompassing thread sometimes.
