So is playing the Canucks the statement game for other teams to measure themselves against now? We've beat Pitts, Hawks, Caps and are just rolling right now.
Before yesterday's game, Burrows in his last 82 regular season games had 40 goals.

Surprisingly Toronto is #4th in the league on the road and well Columbus at #2 is pretty shocking too. | The Canucks have played the fewest road games so far, the average around the league is about 26 road games so when they even it out, they'll probably be in the top 10-14 in road goals for. They've also played the most home games too, 5 up on Washington, but only 1 game more than San Jose which is impressive.

So did anyone see Kesler at the Bay Downtown today?
He was there signing stuff and taking pictures. But it was like Ovie thing were I think you needed to buy something for him to sign but pictures were free!
The line was rather short like 10 people everytime I looked.
Oh and a shameless plug, I have BNIB NHL 10 for the PS3 for sale! Look at my signature if interested.

I went to the Bell store at Richmond Centre for the Bernier signing. Lineup wasn't too long, it moved along pretty quick, I got there at 2:10-ish and I got #124/255 (?). Bernier was still sporting his shiner from the Fistric fight |

The budding rivalry between the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks just got a little bit more heated.
Following Vancouver's 5-1 victory over Chicago on Saturday night, Canucks forward Ryan Kesler had harsh words for Blackhawks winger Andrew Ladd.
"He's a coward and that's the way it is," Kesler told Team 1040 radio in Vancouver.
The two dropped the gloves in a first-period fight on Saturday, a bout that Kesler said was payback for a hit from behind in last season's second-round playoff meeting between the two teams.
"It stared last year in the playoffs," Kesler said. "He hit me (and) cross-checked me in the face when I wasn't looking. At least he was man enough to hit me when I was looking this time."
Ladd landed the hardest punch during the fight, cutting Kesler below his left eye and motioning to it as the officials separated the pair.
The two teams don't meet again until after the Olympic break when the Canucks visit Chicago on Mar. 5.
Vancouver has won four straight games and sits second place in the Northwest Division behind the Colorado Avalanche.

The rematch should be fun but Ladd did win the fight last night. Hopefully Kesler wins the next bout.

I thought it was like a common rule that Dman gives stick to Goalie if he loses it.
And forward gives Dman stick if he loses it.

| Canucks' players blackball Hockey Night in Canada Ben Kuzma, The Province
Published: Sunday, January 24, 2010
If you found it strange that no members of the Vancouver Canucks were interviewed on Hockey Night in Canada before or after an impressive 5-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday at GM Place, it was by design. Upset over Ron MacLean's one-sided summation of the Alex Burrows-Stephane Auger affair - a rambling Jan. 16 rant on HNIC that infuriated the Canucks and especially coach Alain Vigneault - the club did not extend an olive branch Saturday.
Far from it. It's still a thorny issue.
After all, the Canucks dominated the Blackhawks to such a degree, their players were named the three stars of the game.
Roberto Luongo was the first star with 43 saves, NHL scoring leader Henrik Sedin was the second star with three points - including his career-high 23rd goal of the season - and Ryan Kesler was the third star.
The CBC makes a post-game point of interviewing one of the game stars, usually the first, but that was not meant to be. "It was an organization's decision," said Vigneault. "Any time we feel that one of our players has not been treated fairly, as an organization we have to take a stand and we did that last night and we're moving forward."
Next Saturday, the Canucks will be featured on Hockey Day in Canada in a prime-time battle with the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Will they co-operate or clam up? Stay tuned.
"I'm not quite sure what's going to happen next week," said Vigneault.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman also said he was satisfied with the investigation that led to Burrows being fined $2,500 US for criticizing the officiating of Auger.
And he hinted that he's more concerned about players using the tactic in future games.

| Quote: CORMIER SUSPENDED FOR BALANCE OF QMJHL SEASON AND PLAYOFFS
The verdict is in.
Rouyn-Noranda Huskies forward Patrice Cormier was suspended for the balance of the season and the playoffs by the QMJHL on Monday.
Cormier, 19, created a firestorm of media attention last week when he elbowed Mikael Tam of the Quebec Remparts in the head, sending Tam into convulsions on the ice and causing him to be taken to hospital with brain trauma and broken teeth.
Chief disciplinarian Raymond Bolduc called the hit "dangerous and unacceptable" after laying out the punishment on Monday.
The incident occurred in overtime of a game on January 17. Cormier took to the ice to start his shift, cut through the centre ice area and threw his right elbow up into Tam's face. Tam then collapsed, his body shaking until he was taken off the ice on a stretcher by medical staff and players.
Cormier, who was playing in just his third game with the Huskies, was suspended indefinitely by the league pending further investigation.
The hit generated a massive amount of discussion in Canada, drawing the ire of head shot critics from the hockey world. The day after the incident, TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie took to his Twitter account, writing, "This Cormier elbow is sickening on so many levels. I have never been so discouraged about the game of hockey as now."
The league announced last Wednesday that it would be unveiling "disciplinary measures" the following Monday for Cormier, who was serving as the captain of Canada's world junior team no more than a few weeks ago.
This suspension also comes just four days after the OHL suspended Windsor Spitfires forward Zack Kassian for 20 games for delivering a charge against a vulnerable player who did not have the puck. That hit was on the Barrie Colts' Matt Kennedy back on January 14th.
Bolduc had spent recent days looking over testimony from players, officials and team representatives who witnessed the incident.
He added on Monday that Cormier would not allowed to play in any leagues under Hockey Canada's jurisdiction, but that he had five days to appeal the suspension if he wished to do so.
Cormier is not allowed to play for the Devils or their AHL affiliate until his QMJHL team is eliminated from the playoffs.
Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said the organization would respect the QMJHL's ruling.
"We will honour the league's suspension, have not considered, and will not explore other avenues for his return this season," Lamoriello said in a team release. "We are pleased to hear Mikael Tam is doing well. Our thoughts are with him for a full recovery."
Lamoriello said the Devils organization does not condone Cormier's actions but also defended the player they picked 54th overall back in 2008.
"This unfortunate incident does not reflect the character of the Patrice Cormier we know," added Lamoriello. "We trust that Patrice will have learned a valuable lesson that will serve him well when he returns to hockey as a valued player in our organization."
Meanwhile, Tam is now out of hospital but is waiting to hear whether he'll be able to resume his hockey career in the near future, if at all. | Deserved more than that...
