It use to be The Hurricanes who would get the 3rd spot in the east for winning their division and having 4th and 5th place have more points than them. Now it seems to be our division. Canucks are behind the Yotes and LA, yet we are division leaders for the 3rd spot.

I wonder when Gillis will make his trades. Deadline is approaching. Not trading because of the recent loss to Tampa.
Please tell me that some of you now agree that Wellfeed needs to go! I have said it from the start of the season and I will say it now. Fuck you Wellwood.
Sedins pointless again on the road! that's more important than anything.. if we are to do something big, we need them to "show" up on the road.. Yes, the other lines are important as well but why such a big difference on home and away is what boggles me.. oh well.. on to the next one!

didn't see the game, but i'm guessing road matchups + new adjustments by the competition taking away their easier plays
Biggest concern and beef with the Sedins is they can't do anything on the road or in the playoffs. I guess the road part might be true unless they turn it on.
hasnt Wellwood done that at least one another time this season already
We had an offside goal by Samuelsson this season too when the team went on a tear; and it was far more blatant than Martin St. Louis' goal. I forgot which team it was against though.

TSN, The Score, and Sportnets were all talking about how the 3 canadian goaltenders arent playing so good with the olympics starting this week. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
LOL @ complaining about the missed offside calls.. who cares? by the way we played tonight, we deserve to lose.. calls get missed all the time and sometimes get called when they weren't suppose to be..that's the life of sports

Ryan Miller is in the shitter as well, put an allstar cast in front of them and it should turn for the better.

The Atlanta Thrashers have traded goalie Kari Lehtonen to the Dallas Stars for defenceman Ivan Vishnevskiy and a fourth-round draft pick in the 2010 draft.
Lehtonen, 26, was recalled by Atlanta on Tuesday after completing a conditioning assignment with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. The Finnish backstop has not played this season after undergoing back surgery on Sept. 16.
Over four seasons with the Thrashers, Lehtonen compiled a record of 94-83-17 with 14 shutouts. He led Atlanta to the franchise's only playoff appearance in 2006-07.
The Stars now have a surplus of goalies with Marty Turco and Alex Auld already on the team.
"We get a goaltender. That gives us three now, so that's a situation that we'll have to deal with," Stars head coach Marc Crawford told reporters on Tuesday night.
"Obviously I think they feel pretty good about Kari Lehtonen. He's come back and I've heard that he's played well at the American League level, so we'll see what happens from there on our side."
Lehtonen was originally drafted by the Thrashers with the second pick in the 2002 draft, after the Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Rick Nash first overall. He is completing the final year of a two-year, $6 million contract, and will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Vishnevskiy, 21, was drafted by the Stars in the first round (27th overall) in the 2006 draft. The defenceman has spent the past two seasons shuttling between Dallas and the AHL. In five NHL contests, Vishnevskiy has two assists and two penalty minutes. He has eight goals and 16 assists in 51 games this season with the Texas Stars of the AHL, and is in the second year of a three-year entry-level contract.
The Thrashers are expected to assign Vishnevskiy to Chicago (AHL).

After that Kovalchuk debacle, Waddell did a good job of trading Lehtonen as they no longer need him due to Pavelec.. Ivan Vishnevskiy WILL be a stud in the NHL.. A young, offensive D man!! and a pick with it!!

2 Thumbs up
The real question is why did Dallas trade for Lehtonen? And is an RFA by the end of the year. Unless they plan to trade Turco soon?

With Joe Nieuwendyk publicly calling out Turco last month and with the Stars reportedly already deciding that Turco will no longer be a Dallas Star after next season, it seems that his fate has already been sealed.
and Kari Lehtonen is still going to be RFA if I'm not mistaken cause he's only 25 and has only played 5 seasons in the NHL.
