Take a look at the away records of the other teams leading their division and even teams below them and look at ours, it's a disgrace and needs to improve before going into the playoffs. | I'm not much of a stats guy. The Canucks do need to work on their road record, if they want success in the playoffs. Elite teams win home and away. But to say the only reason the Canucks are tied with the Avs is because they played well at home and the Avs haven't played well lately aren't real good reasons. If you are going to look at stats like that, then the Canucks are only 4th to Washington, San Jose and Chicago in terms of our goals for and goals against differential. Just another useless stat. If you take into account overtime losses, than Washington is 18-15 on the road and Chicago is 18-12. San Jose is the best road team at 21-10. I'll take a split on the next road trip. After that, if they can't get it done on the road, then yes I agree their road record is a disgrace.

Well the road trip after the break will be tough and hopefully they find ways to score the first goal instread of getting scored on first and playing from behind.

most true hockey experts and analysis would look BEYOND the stats; however everything is recorded int he modern world in regards to stats
Mr.Biggs hit the point with how stats are deceiving. The aves, might not be scoring the most goals, but they play a consistent game of hockey. The Canucks do NOT. The Pens last year showed consistency without crazy scoring because hockey is a team game and when the TEAM buys into a system, they succeed.
The Canucks played pretty well against Tampa and Montreal, you dont put up 5x+ shots on the opposing team without trying. Sure the goalie may be riding hot and stonewall everything, but winners find ways to get that key goal and then play a team effort game/system to win.
now lets bring hte same situation to the olympics. Canada can easily put up 40-50+ shots on Hiller for the swiss come thursday, and because the team is a winner, they will score and find ways to win in order to succeed. Very important for a short tournament like the Olympics.

Another article, some excerpts Quote:
Police clocked Khabibulin driving 70 mph in a 45-mph zone.
A Scottsdale, Ariz., police report said the arresting officer asked Khabibulin if he knew why he had stopped him.
"Speed," Khabibulin replied.
When the arresting officer asked the netminder if he knew how fast he was going, Khabibulin answered "80."
| Quote:
"Khabibulin was placed in the phone room and given instructions on how to dial out. A few moments later, Khabibulin knocked on the door and again asked how to dial out,"
| hahaha admitting to going faster than he was clocked at and to drunk to follow instructions to dial a phone crazy drunken Russian

AHAH | It would be pointless anyways, for any NHL team to sign Forsberg to play for them this season, he would have to go through waivers first, since he's played in Europe this year, no way he makes it through waivers. Even if a team doesn't want him, another team in the West competing for a playoff spot with the Canucks would just claim him so the Canucks can't get him.

EDMONTON -- Edmonton Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin is facing charges of drunk driving and speeding following an incident in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Khabibulin was pulled over in a black Ferrari that was seen speeding down a street just after midnight Feb. 8, officer Dave Pubins said Wednesday.
"The officer estimated the driver's speed to be well over 60 miles an hour, and the speed limit there was 45. In fact, his radar got the vehicle travelling at 70," Pubins said.
"The driver identified himself as Nikolai Khabibulin and the officer noticed that Khabibulin had an odour of alcohol emanating from him. Khabibulin also admitted to drinking earlier in the evening."
Khabibulin said he had consumed one glass of wine, according to a report prepared by the arresting officer, but had watery, bloodshot eyes and was speaking slowly.
He was booked on charges of driving under the influence and excessive speed and then released. He is due back in court Feb. 26.
Oilers General manger Steve Tambellini issued a statement late Wednesday saying the team was "aware of the reports from Phoenix."
"Nikolai has been fully cooperative with the authorities," Tambellini said in a statement. "Until the continuing legal process is completed we will have no further comment."
Khabibulin joined the Oilers in the off-season after stints with the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes and the Winnipeg Jets, as well as a run with the Tampa Bay Lightning that included a Stanley Cup win in 2004.
The Oilers had high hopes for the 37-year-old Russian, and signed him to a four-year, US$15-million deal. But he has missed most of the season with back problems, and had season-ending surgery for a herniated disc last month.
