All is good except Anaheim traded away Justin Poggy and a 4th round pick to Carolina for Aaron Ward. And they gave Toronto a 7th round pick for Joey MacDonald. Did any of these trades make their goaltending stronger?
Oh yeah, MacDonald has played a total of 72 NHL games while Poggy has played 7 games.
No one can say for sure, but I think Brian Burke summed up what the trading deadline means pretty good. If a team is looking to revamp their team at the trading deadline, then they have done something seriously wrong with the makeup of their team.
In reality, the trade deadline is nothing more than an opportunity for teams to admit they are no longer in the playoff hunt, and to try to get high draft picks or young talent for whatever assests they had as well as teams trading salary cap space for said picks/young talent.
One thing I do agree, Schneider's value shouldn't change much between now and draft day, but at the current time, a second or third round pick is highly unlikely.
at the same time, pretenders and contenders use this day to make the push
with less than 20 games remaining, its going to be tight
The ducks are pushing for the spot, so aaron ward is something they could use, their other move was for vishnovsky, which is a great thread on D
btw, when is Sportchek gonna have those Family event savings?
Is it random, or is there actually a "pattern", like at the beginning of each season?
Everytime they have a sale event, I have nothing to buy... so gotta prepare this time.
I have a bunch of stuff to buy and I'll hold off if I know a family event sale is gonna happen soon...
Anyone know?

to sell off Cory, there must be decent return, inwhich we are lead to believe that there wasn't any at the offers Gillis got or opposing teams did not like the packages that were being shopped around for what the core of the team needs
Raycroft, is most likely trying to get back to being a no1 goaltender of some sort, may or may not happen. Remember Raycroft is a Calder Winner. Backup goalie money is usually limited, as no team wants to eat up 11mil in goaltending like the hawks did last year
wait till the season winds down and see what the canucks offer him. He has probably been the best of the three backups we had behind Luongo so far
No chance in hell is Raycroft ever going to be a starter again. Everyone rates Schneider so high but if a team was looking for a young potential #1 in the league they'd be going for Hardy in Minnesota before they even look at Schneider. At least Hardy has NHL experience and they know what he brings to the table. Also if its a team like Chi-town or Philly they'd be going after Price of Halak, both more proven.
Price has had his chance... he FAILED
Cory has played only a couple of games.
Actually, he was brought up way too early and did well in his rookie year but after that, when he actually went down to what was reasonably expected of him, the fans/media based him and ruined his confidence. Not to mention this stunned his development as well.
So yes and no to him having his chance. He did get a chance and took a great advantage of it but the year after, there was just too much weight on his a young goalie's shoulders.
Pumped for tonights game. Where's the usual game day activity in this thread?
People still haven't recovered from the Olympic high that was the gold medal!
Tonight's game should deliver. Ladd and Kesler will be interesting to watch.
Who else thinks Alberts will scrap tonight? The Hawks have been known to go to the net hard, and Alberts is known for his crease clearing presense..Something will give.....
Anyone played props on BCLC??

Props are the worst things to play in sportsbetting, even if its as easy if it looks! but good luck guys!
I wouldn't play it on BCLC. I like playing props only during superbowl, totally adds to the fun. Like over under a time limit on the US anthem, always a fun one.
