How the fuck did Gillis convince a team to take Patrick White for a totally legit defenseman on the verge of hitting his prime?

Not saying this is the case but just a random thought I had. | Interesting, but unlikely. I would love Heatley, but Gillis is fixing what was broken in the playoffs. Although more scoring is always welcome, it certainly was not the issue in game 6.

Bah, to all you Wellwood lovers.
What hockey player, no matter how much heart would let himself get like this. I dont play pro sports but I would never want to look like this.
Please dont give me that he was the hardest working player during the playoffs. He got rocked, and hit with a stick and stayed in the game. As far as I am concerned I would rather have the guy rocking, then the guy getting rocked. Oh, and he was all over the ice cus he was lost and looking for hot dogs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oGGoNT-xqE
PS - You type in "Kyle Wellwood" on google images and a picture of Randy from the trailer park boys.

wow r u serious? that's an old pic... and notice the cast he has on from his injury
and u mean u rather have a lazier nazzy getting 6 mil and being outperformed by wellwood at 1 mil and with less ice time and talent to play with?
oh and wasn't that the game that he got rocked lost a tooth and chipped another, then got 5 stitches above the eye and stayed in the game he got us 8 PP minutes and 2 pts and setting up the game winner.. and was 7 - 0 in face offs? Quote:

Players like Wellwood are the players you NEED to win a cup, -period-
sure he may not be a physical speciman, but i bet you this year he's going to come to camp in better shape then last, and there will not be all the stupid commentary on his weight etc.
Wellwood has intangibles that other players do not bring to the team, You can run a ride a bike for 5 hours a day, but you cant teach hands like he has, you dont teach the coordination and anticipation he uses in his little face-off move
He stepped it up in the playoffs, and he is obviously a player who knows that another gear has to be found in the most desperate of times, a Canadian who plays like this is always welcome on my team because they are undervalued and overperform.

I agree with hondaracer, welly did amazing in the playoffs when it mattered. It was pretty gross when he lost a tooth and what not, but he was still playing and had a huge heart. I'm predicting that he's gonna have a break out season this year and do a hell of a lot better than he did last year.

My argument, which was subtle, was that this video was an example of the only good thing he did for the team the hole year. (Which I consider barely good)
- He could not play with Sundin his supposed friend from Toronto
- He went through an amazing drought of production
- He is too easily rubbed off the puck
- He was lazy
- His shootout skills were stinky
Yea, the picture is from last off season. But, give me a break! Just because you have a leg injury which requires a cast does not mean you can go off training. If he gave a fuck he would have stood on that one leg taken shots at the net. Could have done many arm work outs, proper eating.... I mean the list goes on........................
I just realized I am wasting to much time on this fat fuck.
If you want to talk to me about him, pm me. I can give you a full and detailed argument. Quote:

Poor guy only made about a mil last year... 27 pts in 74 regular season games, 6 pts in 10 playoff games, not to mention his dominance in faceoffs... The only thing worth complaining was his goal drought... but seriously he was still much more productive than guys like Bernier and Demitra who tripled his ice time..

lol for 1 mil?????? r u stupid or r u just retarded? wut do u expect from him? he owns in face off, his points production is higher than others getting more than him... and ur argument is becuz he's a fat fuck? he couldnt play well with sundin bcuz sundin had a drought and they didn't even have that many chance playing together
this is gonna be bumped up a lot this year... kinda like the "Alex Burrows needs to go" thread at CDC last year
