Nothing unexpected about recalling Schneider or other prospects. All teams do this once their minor league teams are done for the playoffs. It's really to give the prospects the change to experience the NHL playoff atmosphere and to see first hand the hard work it takes daily. It's almost like a reward, they travel with the team on the road too.
They are also called up to fill out the "Black Aces" squad, to practice with the guys that don't dress regularly like Hordi, Glass, etc... to keep them in sharp game shape so if there are any injuries, they don't have to step in completely cold.

They do that so he will still at least get practice time so if one of the tenders get hurt. Most teams do that during the playoffs to cover there ass. Posted via RS Mobile |

Too bad Schroeder can't play with the team. It be nice to see him play a couple of games in the playoffs.

Awesome for being optimistic, but if Canucks wins this, it's gonna be in 7 games.
They aren't gonna take it home in 5.

Wednesday, 28.04.2010 / 1:53 PM / News
Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed free agent defenceman Kevin Connauton. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Connauton, 20, appeared in 69 games with the Giants in 2009-10, recording 72 points (24-48-72) and 107 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native shared the League’s top spot as the highest scoring defenceman in the regular season (24-48-72). He added 13 points (3-10-13) and 21 penalty minutes in 16 playoff games.
The 6’1”, 196 lb. defenceman was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

I always thought Connauton was Canucks property already and we asked him to play in the WHL. Oh well.

Good signing either way, looking forward to next seasons training camp!

The trade deadline isn't really a trade deadline, but more like a playoff roster eligibility deadline. And yes trades are allowed after the deadline and during playoffs, its happened before.

So if Montreal wins tonight do we play Friday? They'll be the 4:00 game on Saturday and Chicago game will probably start at 5:00.
