guys the only reason we lost is because our green men weren't there!!
if our green men showed up going boohoo to the penalty boxed kids and upside down stands, the canucks would be all over them!

Ok so I just got back from the game. No commentary, hardly any replays and no analysis.
This is what I took from the game:
-Canucks PP has to make the Hawks pay (Sedins combined 0 goals on PP this series)
-Clear the front of our net better or be more aggressive in front of the net
-Hawks buried their chances, Canucks did not.
I don't think the Canucks are done, but they have to start burying their chances. If we bury a PP goal at some point this game may have been closer or a bit different.
From those who watched the game on CBC, i don't know if they mentioned it or you noticed, but from being at the game, not making excuses for Burrows, but he looks like he's playing injured. I noticed one play where he got hit and landed on his right shoulder and he put no weight on it at all. Something seems wrong with him. It's like he wants to put the effort in, but can't. I can't beleive he'd be a no show, dude's got heart.
Fuck, Alberts is a slow mofo, but that's the least of their worries.
End rant.

So fucking stupid. I was hoping that since the NHL called back the 2nd goal by Ovechkin which kept them from tying Game 7, that they wave goals like goal #5 by Byfuglien.
Despite it going off of Edler's skate, there's a difference between driving hard to the net, and crashing the crease. Our defenseman's weren't even pushing Kane & Byfuglien into Luongo. Terrible call IMO.

It has to be said, Lu was beyond awful tonight but so was the team infront of him. I really hope for Lu's sake that he can rebound and have a strong game on Friday or we're basically done. And wtf happen to our PP? Has it already hit the golf course?

The thing that pisses me off the most was the 5th Chicago goal when Byfuglien crashed into Luongo. How the fuck was that not goalie interference, when a slight tap by Knuble in the Washington game was? It was clear that Luongo would of stopped the puck otherwise.
Bullshit.

This series is exposing a complete flaw in the NHL which players like Byfaglin and Holmstrom etc. exploit to grind out goals, how the fuck can you possibly clear a player of 260lb's out of the front of the net without taking a penalty? stick play can only get you so far and even then you are risking a penalty, the Canucks defense hasnt been up to par in this department but the whole situation is fucked imo

its retarded if everyone shoves the goalie in the net and just push the puck thru the line.

What's stopping the Canucks from crashing the net as well? Bernier isn't exactly a midget. It's not an exploit its just hockey. If you want this part of the game gone, that stupid crease rule from 90's would have to come back.

U know what the Coyotes do? They park Jovo in front of the damn net. Detriot? Bert.
Someone please enlighten me why we have possibly the most predictable PP of all time? I don't watch hockey religiously but why is our only strategy on the pp is get it to the point and have our shots blocked? We cant just throw pucks at the net from the side? Or just generally mix things up and create a more chaotic environment?

But Hawks much like the Kings know that that is where our strength is; our down low game coming from the Art Ross & possibly Hart trophy winner and his twin brother.
You see most shots from the points since the primary defensive focus will be down low against the twins + Samuelson > Salo, Edler & Erhoff. Our offence is putting it there because that's where the space is.

They try to get too cute which might have worked with LA but not Chicago.

Are we allowed to use the word, "over-rated?" I recal someone had the courage to say Luongo was over-rated, even though he is, and getting raked over the coals for the comment. LOL.

We need to get more shots out of our PP. We need to go back in time when the nucks got ripped by AV for their poor pp. We need to start passing back to the point and shooting right away. No more of this passing for the "perfect" shot BS. Vancouver had so many chances to shoot during their PP and even strength and yet again they chose to pass. And have some people crash the damn net while we're at it.

To all those that commented on game 2 saying, did you really think it was going to be a sweep, all least we got one on the road, etc...
It's that type of attitude that has the nucks in the situation they're in. When you're up two goals in a game, going into the third period with the lead, you should close the game out, not sit back and play defensive shit hockey letting the other team come at you. Now were in a situation where we are down 2-1 in the series, there's no momentum whatsoever, everyone is questioning our powerplay, physical play, our inability to protect luongo, very few positives have come out of game 3.
The hawks clearly have an agenda to crash the net and get luongo off his game, that so far is clearly working for them. All five goals in game 3 resulted from choas in front of luongo. It was very dissappointing to me that no dman or forward made the hawks pay the price for driving to the net. If the refs aren't going to call anything, make the adjustment and crash the hawks net, everything is fair game.
I will give credit to the hawks for not sitting on their lead in the third period, they went for the knock out punch, they didn't sit back and play defensive hockey like the nucks did in game 2, i hope the nucks will learn from that.

In my opinion, the refs didn't determine the outcome of this game despite what many on this board and other boards seem to think. The Canucks beat themselves, plain and simple. They made Niemi look good by firing pucks on the ice instead of up high. And it was ridiculous that the Hawks were able to win battles in the corners and to drive the net unopposed; no goal was from farther out than 4 feet.
With that said, I'm keeping the faith - Canucks in 7.
