when it was first suggested Luongo be the captain i was against it and got ripped up by canuck fans for saying so. now, not so much. great goalie but its a mental game for goalies and he should be focusing on his game.

Yeah...very reassuring statement there Lu. | Looks like his $7M is cushioning the blow

Next year.. we will be wayy better... with Demitra/Willie and others gone, we can hopefully use that money to get some more "grit" and scoring.
But for now...we will just have to read a few more pages as to how we should trade Lu...

I agree. He's fairly reliable, somewhat cheap and can step it up when he wants to. And his lack of facial expression is cool too Posted via RS Mobile |

sign an offensive player (a go to player -late in games or in playoffs)
tighten up defense by signing better D man and make sure they are healthy for playoff time
thats what I think the canucks need. I dont want them to come back with the same team as they did this year -_________-

Was at the game today, alot of fans were still cheering and chanting until the very last second of the game... extremely disappointed that the players did not salute the fans in the end...

To get teased like that after the first... and then have to witness the 2nd and second half of the 3rd was very tough to swallow.
I might be saying this out of pure emotion, but what the hell. In today's league, it doesn't matter where you finish... as long as you get to the dance. We can call Halak an outlier, a fluke, whatever. You get a hot goaltender and you go far in the playoffs - full stop. Scouting is crucial in this league: scouts have to find the "outliers", ride them for one or two years, and then turf them and look for the next big thing. There is no such thing as a dynasty anymore, at least not in the salary cap era. Chicago knows this and that's why they are going for it this year.
We had a better defence this year, but the injuries definitely hurt us (Mitchell and Lukowich). It also didn't help that Schneider was a douche and of course, we are dearly missing Luc Bourdon. The Sedins didn't have a bad playoff, but they were taken off of their game when the "rats" on Chicago got to them during the whistles. Luongo is virtually un-tradeable with his contract, so he needs to be stripped of the captaincy immediately and a sports psychologist should be hired to work with him alone full-time.

I still can't really get over Lu's comment after the game, it was stupid, it's nothing to be proud of. I hope next year he isn't captain anymore

They always try to get it perfect, and when its playoff time, its all survival. You cant survive doing what they do.
But I agree with you on the defense. They need defense like fast

I think the line of burrows/sedin/sedin is fine. But they need a power forward type. Someone who isn't a SUPER star but a star.
Milan Lucic or smthing.

Vigneault was clearly outcoached by Quenneville in this series. Even on the road, the Hawks won the match ups. The Hawks changed on the fly after winning the faceoff to get their match up but Vigneault didn't do anything about it.

definitely hard to watch after the first period...
anyone hear about willie's status? I haven't heard of anything, i was seriously forgetting he was even still a canuck.
Makes me wonder if his concussion may be career ending, or is he just on the D/L?
