Any Road bikers?

What place would you recommend to pick up a road bike? Nothing too fancy, under $1000 preferably, just to get started. I picked up my last bike (mountain) at the Richmond Cap's, but was not too happy with their service and response when I had a problem with the shocks. Thanks fellas.

craigslist...you get a used mid range bike for the price of a new bottom end bike

I got a 2 year old beginner road bike for 450...brand new 09 model costs 900+ taxes
