Purchased online in the last couple of days;

John Varvatos leather trim black wool trenchcoat:

Dolce & Gabbana Gold plaque jeans;

Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana white plaque polo from luisaviaroma.

And the best for last....

Jack Purcell V-4 patent sneakers, was a bitch to find them online and in size 12 because Converse doesn't ship to Canada;

Was that D&G coat on sale? I seen the exact same one online for just under $900, there's a blue one on sale right for $900 (CDN) including taxes/duties if anyone is interested. I'll look for the link for the black one if anyone is interested.

the fuck?

this is like 90% same as mine, i know vancouver harry rosen would up the price quite a bit, but 900?

however the D&G logo is definately supposed to be at least 2x larger than the one you posted, and it spreads across the whole left chest.....at least the one in my closet right now.

edit: heres the aura

Fur also looks different on yours. I don't think the blue one is the same.

just saw the new colours of this jacket now comes with the smaller logo....

still cant believe they charge 1400+tax for a 900 jacket... i hope its because they use different materials.. not likely though

edit: by the way thanks for the heads up jah gekko

The fur only looks different because thats probably coyote fur. No two animals have the same contrast in fur color and pattern, plus they could be cut from different parts of the animal.

The logo on vsvs does look bigger, so maybe they could be different jackets. But we all know we Canadians usually get ripped off compared to other parts of the world

Designer stuff in Vancouver and Canada in general is way overpriced, I would say by 50% or even more depending on the label. I remember walking into Holts 2 weeks ago and was checking out some of their sales stuff and I was shocked at some of the prices and keep in mind these are sale items. I understand some people will never buy online but seriously we're talking about saving a few hundred dollars, not a few cents. It's sometimes even cheaper to call the designers store say in the US and order directly.

Edit:

I knew I seen your coat (or very similar to yours) somewhere, turns out it was on the D&G online store. The US site had the jacket but I guess it sold out, I checked the UK store and they have it for 580GBP which is just under $1000CDN. From what I've been told, D&G will start shipping to Canada next month but the US store is great if you can get your hands on a proxy because the US online store has tons of sales and the current sale has been on since last month. Too bad they don't sell Dolce & Gabbana, maybe they will in the future.

Here's the jacket;

I would like to order online as well, but about 50% of the time i fuck up my sizing or it doesn't look good on me and end up not even wearing the item. Im sure for a jacket is easier, but when it comes to trousers and dress shirts, i just find it safer to just spend an extra hundred or so to make sure it fits.

where do you buy your stuff online?

I dont really like to buy online because it is hard to tell if the cutting or material is good... and also different jackets or sizes look good on different people

I went to Uniglo's flagship store in NY, and I don't see what all the hype is about. They had walls stacked high with generic cashmere sweaters for $89. Low-grade cashmere that is quite obviously cultivated in an environmentally unsustainable manner.

I think it is wrong that mid-range labels are attempting to bring cashmere into the affordable price range for mass market consumption, which is creating an envioronmental disaster in Mongolia.

Only a few brands such as Loro Piana do cashmere right.
