To the few people who appreciate, can afford, and are willing to spend big to receive that degree of quality, Hermes, is certainly not played out.
What's played out is posers buying Hermes belts solely so they can rock the H buckle and feel like ballers, especially those who opt to buy one in the signature orange colour just so it will stand out that much more. |
if you interact with crowds of mainlanders then you would understand why i said it's played out. they don't buy it for "quality", they buy it because it's expensive. most of them have absolutely no idea why hermes stuff is top notch, only that it's ballin' because a birkin costs 15 grand. the brand's prices have increased dramatically over the last 5 years and a big part of it is because of an influx of newly rich chinese people. it's not so bad over here, but in HK and Beijing the shit is just ridiculous. Stores never have anything in stock, and people pay thousands (CAD) just to get ahead of the line.

just a note about my experience with Lanvin shoes
I bought a pair of these awhile ago (same style/model just different colour or maybe they're the same colour but this picture shows it darker)
and hadn't worn them until recently after not even a full days wear they fell apart on me....
the inside lining had unglued itself in both pairs and the leather is tearing itself away from the sole already....
just 1 day and most of it was spent chilling on a deck with my friend and the rest was sitting on a plane....
and thats not even mentioning that they're uncomfortable.... staying away from lanvin for good and for those wondering if maybe i got swindled and bought a fake pair i got them from Neiman Marcus in Boston
