how to clean stainless steel exhaust tips

i'm not running stock cats on my car anymore. as a result my exhaust tips are stained and well charred to boot. simple clean works only marginally, and never dull has no effect. it's slash-cut tips so it has squared off ends as well making things worse...

can someone recommend a product that can help clean things up?

i'm trying to find a good camera to take pics... camera phone crap i took is worthless

Metal polishes like Mothers, Eagle One, Wenol, P21S, will all do the job. Use a soft cloth or try some #0000 super fine steel wool.

if it is really bad, at the end of your car wash, soap up the tips and use the really fine steel wool

Soap won't do any polishing, just cleaning

P21S Metal Polish is amazing. Here are results on stock Matrix tips. I never expected to get results like it.

It is polishing by hand so yes you do have to scrub. I used the sponge that it was supplied with. Great results

Not needed with the P21S Polishing Soap.
