S2K vs. MKIV TT RHD I've always wanted to get an NSX and Supra, but since they're so overpriced they have always been out of my price range, so I decided to get an S2K since i wanted to get a quick, reliable sports car. Recently my buddy showed me a 93 RHD TT Supra for sale for a very reasonable price, that appears to be near mint, and all the s2Ks i've looked at cant even compare to the condition this supra is in. I'm having a dilemma, because I've been lookign around for a good s2K for a while, but it seems that all signs are pointing to getting the supra. Does anyone know how Toyota service centres here will treat these? and does anyone think they will ban RHD cars off the road? What would you get? |
i would get a hyundai pony |

They probably won't ban RHD cars if you already have them. Are TT supras reliable?!?!?! They are rarer though, |
if you're going to have a toyota dealership work on the supra, get the s2000 |

im the evil friend who showed him the supra hahaha its true that hes been looking for an s2k for quite a while now. most of them always have these combination: - rebuilt - obvious wear/tear - signs that car wasnt taken care of - roof problems - high mileage the supra tt we looked at is at a wayy better condition than most of the s2k's he considered buying... |
Just do what you feel is the right thing to do. Did you fall in love with the supra when you saw it? Have you driven it? I'm not too into RHD but i do love the supras.... |

I havenet driven it yet, its been a while since I've driven a RHD car, and the area we were in was kind of busy, so the owner took me out for a spin... to be honest, i dont really care if it's RHD or LHD, but I have always had love for cars like Supras, NSX, etc... |
How much $ are we looking at here? 15k? 20k? |

Is it manual or automatic? Personally, I'd stop looking at the Supra if it was automatic. a) more difficult to repair an auto tranny b) not as delightful to drive as a manual edit* are you going to drive the car hard? |

issues with supras battery issues - after 1-2 weeks of not driving it, the battery will be drained shift shaft seal leaking - almost every supra with a v160 tranmission will have a small leak here, i lose about 2-3 drops of oil everytime i drive my car worn valve stem seals - after the valve stems seals are worn, car will smoke on startup blown front main seal - when replacing front main seal, if not done correctly, it will leak oil. have someone who replaced a fms on a supra before to replace it. you're asking the wrong people for advice on supras. it's laughable at what they are saying. |
How about some used local WRX's sure they don't have close to 300hp, but they have potential as well as AWD, an 04 with 2.5 wouldn't be a bad bet. |
