| Major Accident: Granville & Broadway
Anybody else see the Motocyle ramming into the Nissan Versa around 9:45pm?
The bike was heading North, and the car was heading East.
There was alot of debris and I saw a pair of lady's flat shoes and a mens runner on the floor.
Cops were measuring the skid marks and examing the car.
The versa had the passenger side curtain airbags delpoyed with scrapes and dents all the way up to the top corner of the roof.
I believe the driver and passenger on the bike is probably dead (RIP), The driver in the nissan was probably ok.
The entire intersection was blocked off with yellow tape.
I think it took 3 hours to clear the Intersection.

I just found this and it said the car fled the scene.
I can't beleive that. how did the driver flee the scene at such a busy street.

Fucking left turning cars as usual..... I don't know about other riders on here, but every single time I come up to an intersection if cars are turning left I brake down to under 50km/h in the city.... see a lot of riders gunning it through intersections probably the worst thing they can do |

But makes me think, is it the cars fault, or the bikes usually speeding? I mean come on, bikes are harder to see and easier to speed. Bikers should learn to ride with common sense as well.

Anyone who took a rider's course knows that unlike a car, you absolutely do NOT run yellows on a bike.
With that said though, nobody knows what happened. For all we know, the bike had a green and some drunk driver ran a red, unless they were able to get witnesses.
Hoperfully the rider + passenger were wearing full gear. Otherwise they're in for a whole world of hurt.

Was leaving Joey's shortly after this happened. Almost got trapped into my parking spot by an ambulance. Had no idea it was this severe. Hope the couple pull through.

saw a guy trying to cut into the emergency lane to make it to a right turning lane up ahead of me and when doing so almost took out a motorcycle that was driving between the cars and the emergency lane (near the location of the crash), was pretty scary
i cant stand left turners... they're always misjudging the room/time they have to turn... just wait a few more seconds for clear traffic or even the light... no need to risk a fuckin accident

i was driving by the area and pulled over to see what all the police lights were all about.
apparently (info gathered from witnesses at the scene) the bike might have been racing a black bmw. the bmw clipped the bike which then hit the versa. the passengers of the bike flew about 10 meters and the woman passenger was not wearing a helmet. and the bmw sped off..
