Reporting Bad Drivers

I'm just curious, I've had a few experiences with really bad drivers. People that merged w/out looking and almost running into me (I had to break hard), and people that take over and stomp on the breaks on purpose, etc.

Do the police do anything if you report the licence plate #?

Since it's just your word vs theirs I'm not sure if police or ICBC will do anything

I've actually seen people copy down plate number when they see an a-hole driver. My understanding is you just call your local police station and they will pay the drive a visit.

I hate bad drvers as much as the next guy but seriously what a waste of a police officers time. A system like that can easily be abused, ie, calling in plates for stupidreasons, grudges, etc.

Sometimes when people think the other guy is at fault, they're actually at fault, which is another reason why a system of calling in plates is stupid.

If somebody screws up, roll up next to them and tell them, rather than giving the finger.

Thats why we need traffic cops specifically for traffic infractions... With the amount of ppl that drive without due care IE running red lights to make a right turn (red light means stop not pass the line and then see if cars are comming), and pedestrians jaywalking. bicyclist that run reds and stop signs... It would sure produce enough revenue to keep that system going with the amount of infractions that go on in everyblock.
