everything is so advanced they dont even use cards at the table instead they have pictured screens of the cards and shuffle with a press of a button!

if you're not being sarcastic, then i think it may be best if you only talk about things you know.

Which Casino? At Sheraton?

So far all the casinos I have seen in Vietnam have been shit for exactly that reason, they are all electronic. Not to mention the selection of games are lacking.

Another problem with the casinos is that they only let foreign passport holders enter.

Boss,

How far away is Diamond Bay Resort from the "city center" of Nha Trang?

exactly, fuck all electronic casinos in vietnam!

diamond bay is 15km from city center, 12 min car ride, 25 min scooter ride...it's a lil outta town, but that's the best part of it, the serenity.

there are 2 free shuttles that make their rounds everyday at 3:30 and 8:30

we're booked at 97% for new years, but there's still space for the next week or so

Speaking of Casinos they just opened the Crowne Plaza Casino in Da Nang. They have like Pai Gow, Bakarak(sp), Roulette with actual dealers. Nothing really too major yet as its like a soft opening but its kinda nice having some chinese influence in the city.

Boss, I will be in Nha Trang for New years night and New years day. Ill give you a call when I am there. Myself and a few buddies from Vancouver are staying at the Novotel and then plan to go to Sailing Club.

boss_clad 12-26-2009 10:13 PM

coo mang, i gotta MC the diamond bay NYE till midnight, but i'll definitely hit up sailors after

Valour 12-31-2009 07:34 AM

here;s the other cool trick about The Sheraton Casino... If you sit around and play say $5 on any table game, u can order FREE food from their extensive menu! Asian food to steak! And free drinks! All for placing a minimum $5 bet! Imagine if you won that bet! bwahahahaha

good times, shawn

going up to danang sometime in march

scottsman 01-04-2010 12:31 AM

Sounds good. When it gets closer to March let me know exact dates.

Had an awesome time in Nha Trang. I think I will try and make it out there once every few months now. Still recovering from NYE.

Are you coming to check out staff?

boss_clad 01-22-2010 11:44 PM

i'm always scouting staff haha

party tet here mang

scottsman 01-23-2010 12:29 AM

Tet would be awesome in Nha Trang but I am already booked for Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Let me know when you have some dates set for Da Nang.

Really hope to get out to Nha Trang around April or May. If not the family is in Vietnam for a month during summer so we will most likely come down there for a few days.

I'll probably be going to Hanoi in a few weeks. Looking online there doesn't seem to be much to do there. Would it be better to to get a train/flight from Hanoi down to Nha trang or Da nang? Would love to see nature and ofcourse clubbing ;)

scottsman 03-29-2011 11:25 PM

Weather for the most part has been shit as of late. Just came back from Hanoi and Nha Trang both rainy and cold by Vietnam standards. Da Nang is rainy and cold right now too. For some reason the winter has dragged on and seem to be getting a late rain.

When you say there isn't much to do what do you feel like doing?

Hanoi for me has always been a place to get the best "Vietnamese experience." Lots of old buildings, good street food(pho, canh ga, bun cha hanoi) lots of different markets, nice lakes with in the city, Truc Bac lake (sp), hoan Kiem Lake, etc...There are a few tourist places to check out like the Ho Chi Minh Monument, some famous War prisons, Ho Chi Minh museum.

Hanoi doesn't have the best clubbing experiences because a lot of places will close down early or hidden from view that only locals and expats know about. Some of the discos that are popular with Vietnamese would require a reservation or go with someone who knows the place well for a good table. New Roof Top Lounge opened called RoofTop but could be found anywhere in the world.

Never been on train but depends what you want from your trip. Obviously cheaper but a hell of a lot longer. Probably some good scenery. Drive from Nha Trang Aiport to city is nice, lots of scenery. Drive from Da Nang to Hue is also nice. Decent Discos in Nha Trang. Sailing Club is generally pretty bumping

Da Nang has one of the better discos in Vietnam. Always packed. PM me if you are coming to Da Nang as I live here.

Hey thanks for the response. I ended up booking my flight to HCMC. I'll be in vietnam for 10days, I'm just debating whether or not to split half there and half in maybe nha trang. Your post makes me want to visit Hanoi now too =( lol.

Meowjin 04-02-2011 04:16 PM

Nha trang sucks. Go hoi an for beaches. At least you can go surfing in hoi an

scottsman 04-04-2011 10:14 PM

Weather has gotten much better in Da Nang/Hoi An. A lot more to do on the central coast than in Nha Trang which only has a few options.

Hue City, Da Nang City, Hoi An, Buddha Bay, Monkey Mountain, Bana Hill, Marble Mountain, Tons of resorts, shit loads of nice beaches, Cham Island Diving/Day Trips, Golf Courses, amazing beach seafood restaurants, good discos with 1 being a top 3 contender in Vietnam.

Meowjin 04-14-2011 03:48 AM

yep marvel mountain was somethin else.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3308/...ce6aafa8_b.jpg

boss_clad 06-22-2011 05:12 AM

anyone coming in the summer???

sas 07-02-2011 02:51 AM

I'm in Vietnam right now for work. Went to some club in Long Xuyen? Kind of odd - the bar manager sent over the go go dancers to dance with our group. But that wasn't the odd part- they ushered off another group that was already on the dance floor. Dance floor was empty as well.. They said something about, preventing fights? No idea and can't confirm for sure.

Will be heading to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. How much do you normally spend in a night in the city? The best part so far, has been the service.

Skyline350gt 07-03-2011 01:24 PM

Im heading to Vietnam with my pops in September, I haven't been back since 1996 so it's been quite a whiles, pretty sure what I invision Vietnam then and now is totally different.
Anyways my pops going to visit the village Ben Tre somewhere in the south. I plan to explore probably Saigon, how are the hotties there? :D
And Boss Clad we need to meet up man haha show me around.

This entirely depends on what you want to do. You could hang out in the back packer area and eat on the street drinking Bia Hoi(Fresh local beer) and probably spend 10 - 15$ or have a nice meal at Park Hyatt and club/disco hop and spend over 500$.

Boss, whats good in SGN right now? Da Nang is boring as shit. Have you heard anything about a new Restaurant called Chill being built on the top of ACB Tower? Ive been offered a job there but probably gonna turn it down.

scottsman 07-08-2011 09:58 PM

SAS how has your trip been?

Skyline350gt 07-10-2011 08:13 PM

Hey guys quick question, so I bought my Vietnam flight tickets from flight center and he didn't inform me about the Visa and now my dads pissed at me LOL

So where do you guys go get your Travel visas? and how much does it cost? Cheaper the better ofcourse thanks!
