Is Canada going to follow up with the "rumbler" siren?

I was randomly going through youtube and saw these videos that came up.

EDIT: Apparently there's one in the Victoria Police department according to the last video.

This would a great tool for police officers.

I mean I see one too many distracted drivers playing with their sound systems, or on their phones.

Must be a test vehicle unless they are moving away from the "universal" PC concept ? I remember getting our fingers slapped when we installed something far better, more efficient and cheaper....everything from light to Radar units must come from the Only Universal Source Of Approved Knowledge And Excellence And Centre Of The Known World...AKA...OTTAWA

Thats pretty nifty and would be quite nice. There has been countless times that emergency cars have come up close (just beyond 80m or so) to me and the only reason I know is because I saw the lights... hearing the sirens would be nice as well.... and thats without music, just physics... ooohhhh doppler. Changing frequencies like those are much better.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppler_effect

With the change in frequency (sound waves being compressed though movement) its perfectly understandable why people wouldn't be able to hear it; either because the sound was absorbed by the car or the frequency is in a range that the person has difficulty receiving.

read: http://www.bclaws.ca/Recon/document/...ml#section7.02

any sort of siren on a non-emergency vehicle is illegal.

It's to have a better rear view to see what's going on.

But it doesn't make you more of a safe driver than before.

Always shoulder check regardless cause there will always be blind spots
