Window trim, peeling black paint, exposed metal

Hey this is on my rear window



What do you guys think? spray paint? sand it to expose the metal (lol that'd scratch it all up...)?

BTW theres a third brake light in the middle



I'm actually thinking of blacking out all my metal trim around the windows etc. doesn't look so good on a white car

Also want to know, if wet sanding is an effective way to remove bird poop stains
should i be careful when wet sanding a white car, cos the colour doesn't come out as obvious?

bought myself some fine sanding paper and some matte black paint and a spongey applicator... will post pics after the is done with...
