I think it is better if you decide you want a FWD or a RWD.. then decide on the model that suits your budget. Quote:

850s are great, but the maintenance and repair costs are much higher than the 700s/900s. I would recommend a 940 or 740. 240s are great too, but they're getting pretty old. 90+ 760s are good, but not before that year. 960s after 1995 are great, but not before.

Haha yeah that's sweet. The oldschool BCBimmer guys were drooling over it. I like it!

My wife drove a 91 240GL for a while. It was a tank, and ran reliably until it hit about 15 years old then it started going downhill in a BIG hurry. It started getting some massive electrical problems, big oil leaks, lots of sensors and things with the motor started going... And it was big bucks to fix it all.

Unfortunately in the early 90s.. European manufacturers used an environmentally safe plastic for the wire harness which breaks down.. Most cars like Mercedes etc have the same problems.. however a cottage industry of replacement wire harnesses spring up. Quote:

Oh, and here's some 240 pron for you.... If you have time to go through all this then you will truly appreciate 240's. Funny part is like 98% of those are from sweden hahah http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=172878

Oh, and 240 turbo's a fairly rare here in vancouver. If there's one for sale and you want a 240 better go snatch it up.
And whoever said 240's a expensive to maintain... you're dumb

There's a nice 245 Turbo down the street from me, a half-dead 242 a block away and a 262C a few more streets down.
Hey, I have a B230FT too! Except it comes with a 1990 740 Ti. |

If I buy the engine off you do I get a free car with it?
My new car has the b23e motor in it, can't wait to boost it eventually. Gonna build up the drivetrain/suspension first

Yum.
And no, I haven't even put on my 960 door handles, sidemarkers or fixed my blasted headliner yet. All that's lying beside me right now. And I broke my antenna mast the other day. LOL
