| Give me a suggestion:
I have a RX-8 which is on sale rite now. As everyone knows RX-8 is RWD, so i cant driving on the snow. Since i will have to drive to North Vancouver to go to school soon, i am thinking to get a SUV. I dont know what i should pick. I want it has a good outlook, save gas and comfortable.
Here are some of the SUV i may consider:
-Jeep Liberty (2002 to 2007 model)
-X5 (2000-2006)
-MDX (old model)
-Ford Escape
-Nissan X-Terra (2005+)
-Suzuki Grand Vitara (2007+)
-Toyota RAV4
That is all i can think of. If anyone has any suggestion, please tell me.

EVOX with SST. done and done. If an EVO can't get you there, you damn well shouldn't be there anyway.

Why can't you drive a RWD in the snow? People used to do it for years, before FWD's came along.
Get yourself some good tires, and learn how to drive.

Get yourself some good tires, and learn how to drive. | QFT. I had a decent set of winter tires this past winter and I could get around fine provided that the snow wasn't higher than the bottom of my car.

Have you looked at subaru legacy/outback, you can get those in turbo and they're pretty good fun
I know some liberty owners and they tell me the car is pretty horrible to drive/own,
Although for the few snow days we have a year, don't schools typically close when that happens?
Rav4's seem like a dependable car, 4 cyl ones of course, get the last gen ones, tons of cargo space in a cute little japanese package.
Your RX8 won't have the same ground clearance as the SUVs so comment of getting snow tires doesn't really apply, so if you're gonna get a car for the snow you might as well get a 4wd no?

Ahh good for him driving on some plowed snow... of course you can get around fine in the plowed areas, but in places like alleys or smaller streets, the snow in the middle will cause shorter cars to teeter more

I had a lowered car, and lived on a slope. As long as you know how to drive and as long as the car has a good set of winter tires, it's fine.
In the snow, I'd rather drive a RWD with winter tires than an AWD with summer/all-season tires.

^ lol busses get stuck too...
seen a b-line jackknife itself, back end swung forward after braking imagine the passengers inside!!!
And for the most part, of course a RWD with snow tires will get you through, I love how ppl always say that about AWD and all seasons, you can just as easily buy a set of snow tires for an AWD car...

But yea...Get a Rav4 or an Outback if you want AWD and ground clearance. Otherwise, a WRX is a good choice too! |

*shrug* | that's awesome
last year I was on Pro-Kit so I was still good 3" off the ground on my front lip, currently with my Tein SS I'm about 2" .... scraping everywhere
but I never had a problem, my parent's Honda Pilot AWD with all-season isnt as secured as my fwd with good set of winter tires

Also love how people brag how much better their car is in the snow, because they are comparing themselves to retards who won't buy a set of winter tires |
