And, they serve McPizza and other cool McDonald’s items from around the world. Now that would be awesome. Wishful thinking. |
Probably already posted on here before. But came across this on Youtube. I'm sure many of you will know where this was filmed. |

Wow. I used to live literally across the street from there! I remember exactly that's how it used to look like. |

back in the day I swear I could hear it as far away as Renfrew Elementary. just gotta look at your clock when it hits 9 but its been broken for the past couple weeks |
I hear it at 8:59 (according to my phone) almost every day, although generally not when its overcast or any time its socked in and sound doesnt travel, it really rolls up our street I was at Mahoney and Sons one night for drinks on their patio and it went off and was loud AF lol.. everyone jumped |
https://www.change.org/p/protect-and...e-in-vancouver block away from where I grew up. It was a beautiful building when it was new. No pictures of it when it was in decent shape. wAnder why? Across the street was the main post office and kitty corner was Safeway, complete with a parking lot. other corner was the First United Church. really nice underground parking lot.......... neighbourhood kids played roller hockey there on weekends. We're talking late 50's to 60's. |
Damn....... found a picture of the post office. I went there often. My stamp collecting days. https://changingvancouver.wordpress....ings-and-gore/ |
One more link............ https://vancouver-historical-society..._2006_2010.htm still no images of the old Safeway. |

New Westminster to Downtown Vancouver on the old Interurban 1950. |
It's amazing that even though the streets don't look anywhere what they're like today, you can still figure out where the footage was taken by the background. Mountains don't change all that much over time. Yeah, pretty much what is was like back then......... things really started to change a lot in the mid 60's. The spinning tea cup with the servers going around it. Priceless. Can't remember the name of the place. The Aristocrat? |
|
Holy crap those interurbans are not slow at all. |
Just got an e-mail notification of Burger King's Labour Day BOGO for Whopper or Whopper Jr. App only. One time use. Valid until September 02. That's not why the post. I remember the Burger King on Main Street. Good memories. Anyone got pics of the building or a link to it? I also remember the one in Richmond before they moved. |
