24mm on FF is okay... not that wide. I think you need to go down to 20mm or less to REALLY feel the difference.
Can someone lend me a Nikon 14-24/2.8? heh heh. Now THAT'S wide, on FF.

I have to agree with Tom here. 17mm on my 20D was ok, but 17mm on my 5D, awesome .

Forgot about the 17-40....and that is is FF. I've used the 16-35 f2.8 on a 5DmkII...it took a little while to get used to it.

Is there a way to get around this?

Is there a way to get around this? | Makes no sense? The whole EF-S thing is dumb. Why not just make it an EF lens so it's compliant across the range of cameras. If they want to keep it "affordable" which the EF-S range is suppose to cater to, then just make it non-L which it is already.
Why does my comment make no sense?

Haha...that's the day we went to Lynn Canyon and err...someone who shall remain nameless hit his 50mm f1.8 against a table and it broke into a million pieces.

how much better is the noise compared to my t1i?
how about video? it still has no continuous af for video right?
i'm just considering the thousand dollars i'll be investing in this body (after i sell my t1i), or in a tokina 11-16. the body upgrade seems to be an overall upgrade when paired with my cheaper lenses (17-50, 50, 55-250)

This is what I wanted to post yesterday: http://www.vimeo.com/7508466
My very first attempt at cinematography. I'm loving the Canon 7D. I never realized how much I enjoy videography until now . The editing took me a good 12 hrs though! and that is not including trying to figure what program to use and how to edit the footages (probably another 12 hrs). Video is a lot more time consuming than photos.
Stats:
Recorded with Canon 7D and built-in mic (really crappy audio) and Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS. Video was edited on Pinnacle Studio 14 HD directly, with no conversions or proxies necessary. This program is able to edit .mov footages with no problems unlike Vegas or Premiere Pro.
Can anyone recommend a decent external microphone that won't break my wallet?and where can I get one? (preferably in Vancouver). I read that the Rode Stereo Videomic is pretty good but it costs $250 US.

If the T1i is anything like the 50D, then the 7D will be an improvement at ISO 800+, but I'm not sure if it's worth $1000. Personally, I'd get the Tokina.

They have a decent Sennheiser mic for about $200, and I think a RODE Stereo Video Mic for $250. If you can, get the RODE mic with the suspension system, as it will make a huge difference in reducing noise. Also get a Dead Kitten/Dead Cat for the mic to reduce wind noise if you're going to be outside.

It's suppose to come with a dead kitten.
Any personal experience with this microphone on the 5Dii or 7d?

I just checked Vistek, and they're selling the RODE mic I saw at Provision for $439, so I guess I was wrong. It must be around that price. No experience using it - I went to Provision to inquire about the various mics they have that can be mounted on a DSLR and they recommended me that one and a few others. http://www.vistek.ca/store/ProVideoM...icrophone.aspx
The other one they showed me: http://www.vistek.ca/store/ProVideoM...in-stereo.aspx
