Wow! Heartbreaker is right!

A C63 AMG only rolled 310?! Even on other Mustang dynos don't they usually make 350 or so?

I don't feel so bad now that I only made 285 with a lot of issues when I was there!

And the car is making WAY more power now. Hopefully I can get back there in the next couple weeks.

I agree RG are some cool guys with some neat projects!

Mustang dynos usually have a 25-30% HP loss, but somehow I lost almost 40%? LOL

What we have found after testing 100% stock cars is that our dyno is usually around 25% lower then the crank hp. So what ever you get on our dyno divide it by 0.75 and it will give you the hp at the flywheel.
It seems like a lot of car manufactures over-rate the hp of their vehicles. The only cars I've seen that are under-rated from factory are corvettes and Camaro/Firebirds.

a stock s2k does about 160whp from what I remember. thats a 80hp loss. It's more like a 30-35% loss. A prelude with decent bolt ons only gets about 140ish whp from a 190hp motor.

depends on the dyno,

depends if the car is fwd or rwd or even awd...

even the size and weight of the wheels you have will affect ur numbers.

20-25% from wheels to crank difference is quite normal.

expect even more if ur car is rwd. expect even more if ur riding on 20s, expect even way more if u have a fat chick in the car, hell, the dyno would give you any numbers as it screams to get the bitch off of it =)

one thing most of you guys don't know is that a dyno is not for giving you good #'s. The dyno is used as a tuning tool to see how much power you gain from mods. Yeah I made 199whp on it but I wanted 250whp. I had a baseline awhile ago before many more mods and it already put down 230whp at another dyno. Dyno #'s don't mean anything. Bring it to the track and see what it runs. That will tell you the true power of the motor. Every dyno reads different and if you want some better #'s, use a dynapack if there is one around. RG dyno has always given low #'s but knowing that I made 60whp more over a stock h22, im happy with that.

Exactly right. A steady state dyno is an awesome tuning tool. The numbers themselves don't mean as much as the before and after when tuning. The mph at the end of the quarter mile is what counts

Most people don't realize that a dyno is fully configurable by the operator, and any dyno can give a desired number. The sole accuracy of the dyno depends on how it was set up.
