| s2000 sc or turbo?
Hey everyone, I've been running my s2000 on N/A for a while but I am looking for more power now. what are the pros and cons of supercharging or turbocharging it.
I know its not even close to comparison, but i want to beat a GTR.
any suggestions would be cool

Ask Jason why he got rid of his S/C'ed S2k, IIRC the rear diff kept blowing.

And the 2JZ-GTE won't even fit the IS without some fab. work... it's going to cost you one way or another.

2JZ in s2k has been done.
I wouldn't boost an s2k just to beat a gtr. Not worth it anyway.

Why? Does your friend drive a GTR and you feel jealous?
I know how you feel.
I always wanna beat an STI (Of course my goal is not as high as your's vs a GTR.)

can you get a stronger Diff that fits the s2k?
if so then you can boost it what ever way you want.
Nitrous kit could be another option on top of s/c or t/c

pros/cons of supercharger is a long debate, which you could prolly hit the search button for.
in my experience, boost as it goes for s2k's always lies with turbo, as a good tune will allow you not to blow up your car...
that being said... you wanna beat a GT-R? just buy something better... you're not going to take a $50k car (s2k brand new) and whoop a $100k car (GT-R) with $10k worth of boost.
don't be one of those douchebag civic's that's pullin a great stock 127HP and start revving next to Evo's and shit.

You would have to come up with an entire modification plan to get your s2k to beat a GTR rather than going turbo/SC.
There are tuned s2k out there that can be faster than GTR, but they have some serious money invested.

I'd be scared to drive a S2k with 480hp/430lb-ft of torque
Like somebody already said...for the amount of money you're going to have to spend, you're better off getting a GT-R.
Power is only half the battle...you need to worry about traction, reliability, driveability, cooling, chassis reinforcement, fuel, etc.
Even if you could get a power curve up to GT-R territory (not likely, since the motor is just too small), you wouldn't want to daily drive it, which means GT-R still > you

Nitrous kit could be another option on top of s/c or t/c | yup. there are options out there for building up the diff in the s2k, but it seems that most people don't want to put the money and effort into it and just let the stock one keep blowing.

how much are you willing to spend? you can come reasonable close pretty easily.
Kraftwerks Supercharger: $6300 USD
needs no tuning, needs no building up of the motor, and is easy enough to install you can do it yourself. 325whp. apparently daily driveable, and very reliable. http://www.kraftwerksusa.com/product...p?productId=55
PuddyMod Built Diff: $2500 USD +$? for install http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/prod...0&cat=0&page=1
Beefier ACT Clutch: $700 USD, +$1000? for install http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...cts/S2000/ACT/
you'd be out maybe $14,000 CAD when it's all said and done?

I always wanna beat an STI (Of course my goal is not as high as your's vs a GTR.) | I am still debating if i should extensively do up my s2k and or is300 or get an ISF. the problem with the ISF is that there isn much aftermarket parts for it yet. both performance and exterior parts.
and yes I am jealous of someone. just so unfair just because his family is rich and he drives a GTR seems like all of a sudden everyone worships him. anyways back on topic. what other cars could I consider if i were not to tc or sc my s2k/is300?

Sigh - there's always going to be someone faster or who's going to have a nicer car than you, just deal with it. Say you put 30k into your S2k to beat him - he can spend another 10k and whoop you again. The GTR aftermarket is going to be huge and if he's well off, he's probably going to start modding his car as well. Just be happy with your car and work on becoming a better person.
