thanks for the link c3m!

at first glance i see these as not having been available in the mk5 gti:

Quote:
illuminated glove box
this wasn't even an option when i bought mine

Quote:
Technology Package - Satellite navigation system (DVD based), 6.5 inch touch screen with SD card input, 30 Gigabyte hard drive (10GB map data, 20GB music data), SIRIUSŪ satellite radio integrated, and Dynaudio 300-watt digital sound upgrade with 8 speakers
Auxiliary input jack
this is the new rns-510 navi, but the 300w upgrade is not familiar to me... was it available before?

Quote:
8-way manually adjustable height and reach top sport front seats, with power adjustable lumbar support, and lockable head restraints
i have neither reach top or power lumbar on my cloth seats

anyone with an mk5 gti help me with the following do we have any of what is listed below? i know we have some sort of limited slip (done by braking however) but...
Quote:
Engine Braking Assist (EBA)
Electronic Differential Lock (EDL)
Electronic Transverse Differential Lock (XDS)

and i don't see launch control for the DSG transmission... or did they get rid of that after my 07?

they didn't bring back the headlight washers either... not that they ever worked properly.

and they've done away with the side mouldings. i know it looks better, but looking at the damage to the side moldings i have on mine, i can't see this being a good thing.

assuming that the golf-r requires 91 you are probably paying the same amount for fuel as somoene who gets 12-13L (just a guestimate)

Tech pkg was available in the US on the MK5 (interesting enough, they lost the dual
zone climatronic for MY08+)

There's a lot of missing options and paint options on the NA versions compared to the Europeans cause apparently no one's gonna pay a premium for a GTI. I want all those premiums!!!

It is the same, just a different front end. That how it is in Germany. Platform sharing.

i'll never know what the driver-adjustable suspension will be like... and the sport seats will never come here because they have no side airbags

i own a '09 mkv...
i dont see how useful a illuminated glove box is seeing as our glove boxes are about the size of a CD...LOL

there wasnt a sound system update...nav version and normal one came with same stereo.

haha the mkvi doesnt have power seat things either? thats funny...we got power lumbar

i think the engine breaking assist thing is when you break (in DSG only) when it down shifts the car will have a slight jerk? iono maybe its that...or the thing where the car will break itself in an uphill incline?

all mkv GTI DSG comes with launch control...you just know how to engage it.
put your car in S or DSG...turn off ESP...engage brakes fully (push it all the way) and rev your car...it will stop at 3000 and then let go of the brakes...theoretically your tires shouldnt skid
