It's ok, I forgive you. I'd have drooled on the wheel too if I wasn't too busy loving the drive instead!

I'll remember about Kenall and Andrew. Thanks!

I know you were giving me a hard time, no problem I never liked the "steelie" look

The GTI belongs to Futrell Autowerks in Portland, I love the look.

OZ Ultraleggaras FTW..

For those on a budget that want the same look, you can try and look for a set of B7 A4 Titanium wheels.. They're uber rare though

^Ppl on the whoretex says it "might" be revealed at the upcoming LA autoshow.. As of now, the closest thing to a Golf R that you can find in North America is the TT-S (awd + EA113 2.0T with a K04 turbo)

The AFS HID system comes stock on all 2010's I believe, according to the website and the brochure. Will confirm once I have the car actually in my possession. Launch control is still there... salesperson told me to activate it on Cambie and King Ed after the light turned green and I did...

I fell in love with the car once I sat in it. The interior quality is just incredible... light-years ahead of any Japanese/Korean/American car of comparable price! Cross-shopped with the Lancer Ralliart, and definitely no comparison there. The Ralliart is sportier but the GTI is more livable day to day.

Bought the black 2010 Mk6 5-door at Clarkdale on the spot, has the Luxury Package inside which was pretty much all I wanted. Nice, supportive leather seats that smell sooo good. The new touchscreen head unit is SICK.

Monday... I can't wait for Monday!

I knew that.. There was a short blurb on how the Canadians got shafted on the high-tech options that did not come with the MK5. We finally get them on the MK6, but you're forced to buy them in big packages. (i.e. Nav and Dynaudio is combined)

I'm sitting on the fence with ordering a MK6, since I wanted to confirm the following:
-a "Blue" (finally, the last 'blue' was the jazz blue/indigo blue on the MK4) will be offered next year on the GTIs; and
-the Golf R will come to US/Canada (If it comes to the US, I will place a deposit at a US stealership)

If both doesn't show up by May of next year, I'll just plunge in on a base audi A5 6spd with the S-Line package..

Trust me, it's not as bad as the Mitsubishi Ralliart. One package ($5300 for Nav, leather Recaro, sunroof, bluetooth, handsfree key, thicker glass and upgraded stereo) or nothing. Which was annoying.

Canadian GTI's get the AFS HID standard, along with Climatronic dual-zone climate control. US models get shafted on those, which makes some people unhappy. The standard stereo is already pretty good, the Dynaudio doesn't add any more speakers but amp and head unit changes.

Good luck on the blue and the GTI-R... would love to see those in person! The A5 is also an awesome car.

^ I wonder If you're allowed to ask VW to paint your car in colours that are offered in the EU.

If Honda re-make the EP3 civic and destroke a RDX engine (destroke it to 2.0L with turbo), it may be in the same segment with the GTi and competes well with it.

Hell, put the current RDX engine in the Civic Si, fer crying out loud. That poor car needs more power.
