Blackberry Bold 9700 (Onyx) - Any info on this?
 

I did a search for threads on this but found none, so I figured I might as well start one.

I've found early reviews on crackberry.com and BGR but none state clearly anything about pricing and/or availability. The best I've found is late October/early November.

Anyone know anything about carriers/stores getting it here? When? And pricing?

Nobody really knows at the moment.. if anyone is gonna be getting it, it'd be Rogers around October/November.
All the stores would probably be carrying it, but it's not really worth it to buy blackberries from them, they're always so overpriced there.
Just keep an eye on craigslist as soon as they come out.

does the scrolling still scroll?
or is it click ones for onyx?

No trackball, no clicky touchscreen. It's a mini-trackpad.

christmas eh? interesting. thanks for the info. I guess I should look into selling my Bold soon.

To be announced by AT&T in couple weeks.. and i read somewhere else it's retail launch is early November

i tried the trackpad for the 8520, its so smooth, quite a change from the trackball...i like it over the trackball

I hope they run a promotion for those who got the bold. Offer us early HUP. Like what they did for iphone 3G users when the 3Gs came out.

How much do you guys think it'll cost? with and without contract?

Take two seconds to realize that one of their carriers could have more subscribers than the entire population of Canada, and you'll know why.

Bell Canada Getting BlackBerry Bold 9700 In November

the device will start shipping to retailers and dealers on October 30th with a launch tentatively in November with a set date coming later.

Once again these come with Canada’s lovely 3 year contracts which for the Bold 9700 comes in at $399.95 and full retail is $599.95. The funny part is that it looks like they will be retailing the original Bold 9000 for the same exact price… Makes you wonder.

wow, surprised they kept the pricing pretty much on par with the current Bold.

seriously can't wait for this. still selling my Bold to whoever may be interested.

UPDATE: AT&T, Rogers and T-Mobile have announced they will be carrying the Bold 9700 in the weeks ahead. AT&T and T-Mobile’s 9700 will go for $199.99 after a $100 MIR on 2-year deals while Rogers will be asking for $299.99 on a 3-year contract with a monthly minimum voice and data plan of $45. Bell has yet to come forward with pricing but have confirmed they will be carrying the device.
