saw the Pilot and I liked it, having never seen the original (or not even knowing there was an original) I really got into it once the "V"'s we're "revealed"
as for the shows future i've heard that the first 3 episodes will air and then it'll be on a break until january or February next year when the other 13 or so episodes that were ordered will air

Sounds to me like a great way to kill momentum and fan base.

And it wasn't "pretty much like Malcolm Reynolds", it was the exact outfit lol. There have been a few other ones recently too including another reference in the same episode. Just have to watch really closely.
