The most ticketed vehicles

" When it comes to getting tickets, drivers of these vehicles don’t have great luck. Note that while the Scion brand is not sold in Canada, it will be launching here next year. Watch the slideshow to count down the most ticketed vehicles. (Photo: Toyota) "

Haha. You gotta be kidding me!

moomooCow 10-01-2009 04:24 PM

Wow, I'm surprised there are no BMWs/Porches?

I'm also curious how they arrived at their top 10... did they just look at all the tickets and filter out the results? That seems kinda flawed...

shenmecar 10-01-2009 04:40 PM

If you drive a Hummer, you are 4.63x more likely to get ticketed than an average driver.

Probably because people who drive Hummers are drug dealers.

Mugen EvOlutioN 10-01-2009 04:40 PM

lol
hummer, wat about escalade~!! they gotta be in top 10

Its based on Americans. Noticed how every car Scion made was in the top 10. LOL.

EDIT: Almost every car, forgot one, the xD

Blinky 10-01-2009 04:48 PM

Not a very useful (or rather, telling) link.

Many of the cars listed have a young driving demographic, so it's probably more the driver than the car. The two AMGs should be so rare that a few tickets or a few reckless drivers throw off their "statistical" methods.

Sp3cial_K 10-01-2009 04:56 PM

well scions are usually bought by younger people..who probably tend to speed more often..hence the high ratings

Nvasion 10-01-2009 04:56 PM

range rovers,bmw

thumper 10-01-2009 05:17 PM

this list is full of fail.... seriously, a solara?!? every time i see one it's being driven by some old bluehair. what are they getting ticketed for? driving too slow?

Mugen EvOlutioN 10-01-2009 05:28 PM

^

probably lol

i never seen a solara gunning it...not even once

:haha:

TRDood 10-01-2009 05:30 PM

where is the data set from?

the probably got it from a city that have 90% of the people driving solaras.. hahah

penner2k 10-01-2009 05:38 PM

I can believe it. After not getting a ticket for like 10 years I bought my Scion and have gotten 2 and a warning. I've slowed down a lot since I got the Scion too. The last 10 years it should have been excessive speeding tickets. Lately I've slowed down cuz it seems like drivers are getting worse and I cant just go boot around anymore without worrying about someone hitting me.

Nightwalker 10-01-2009 07:17 PM

Bullshit, where are the minivans?

ilvtofu 10-01-2009 08:32 PM

Oh wow the toyota solara?!?!?
Does that apply in vancouver? I'd imagine they are pretty much invisible
Kinda shocked about the scion XB that thing has like 100 hp only!

Doesn't say ticketed for speeding though? I imagine front window tint would be one highly ticketed violation.

Alpine 10-01-2009 09:17 PM

Interesting that the Scions made the list... The actual demographic that buys Scion products ARE NOT young people. In fact the actual profile is that of a middle aged to older/senior person.. which might just provide more fodder for re-testing the driving abilities of the older population.

Isn't it only Vancouver and very few other places where front tint is illegal?

jello24 10-01-2009 09:55 PM

Hummers make sense, Scions due to the young drivers, but what about the Subaru Outback...? that was way out in left field there...

!Aznboi128 10-01-2009 10:57 PM

pulled over for what tho?

i mean I'm sure civic should be there somewhere

A few States too and those that allow it have limited % allowed,I've even seen a few forums where people are pissed that they are getting ticketed for windshield tinting.Seems no matter what the Law " is " some whiner is gonna push the limit and then complain when they get caught ,but seriously windshield tint:rofl:

Drift_Monkey 10-02-2009 02:49 AM

i didn't look at the website, but it really depends how common the cars are on the road.

there's probably not a lot of ferraris on the road that get ticketed compared to any corrollas out there

zulutango 10-02-2009 05:44 AM

All sorts of questions come to mind. Where was the study done? When was it done? What kind of tickets were issued? What laws were being broken? How come virtually none of the cars commonly owned by RS members are listed? Where are the 5.0 Stangs? Something to remember that the car is not the thing breaking whatever law...it's the dirver. Amusing to look at but does not reflect anything like what happens here at all.

Nitrous5.0 10-02-2009 08:00 AM

i been driving a hummer h2 for over a year and not one ticket

q0192837465 10-02-2009 08:22 AM

take these "studies" with a grain of salt. At the speed they compile these "tests", it's never gonna be accurate.

you! 10-02-2009 09:03 AM

that link is full of bs
