There is probably something to that, maybe me tensing up without even thinking about it which makes him more tense and agitated. I need to get him back to spending time with other dogs. My main thing is I do not have 100% control of my dog when off leash and because of that I will not let him off leash even in an off leash park. He won't run away from me but if he see's another dog he'll run off to that dog. I hate when other people have their dog off leash and it comes running up to my dog so I won't be one of those idiots that does it the other way.

I would say I have %90 control of my dog off leash, and I do trust him to listen to me when i need him to but of course there will be some things which take his attention away, yet we go for big walks at the river or up a mountain off leash all the time. when im walkin my dog and sumeones else dog runs up i have no problem with it as long as he is being nice. running around and checking out all the dogs and ppl is what they are suposed to do at the dog park!

so ur dog never goes off his leash outside?

^ You see the problem with that is even a 10% chance of no control means that your dog can severely injure another dog or vice versa, especially when tensions flare, I can guarantee your dog wont listen. Thats a 1 in 10 chance, which is way too high.

If you have a pitt type dog, you will most likely get the blame for it, no matter who started the fight. There are huge discussions on many boards on why pit bulls owners should NOT allow their dog off leash at the dog park cuz it's just a disaster waiting to happen.

Only in my backyard and there is a spot near my work where I can see in all directions for like 1/2 a KM so I'll let him run around there. If my dog see's another dog he's not just going to saunter over to it he's in full sprint and he won't listen to me at that point. To the owner of that dog he's running to it would probably be pretty scary regardless if my dogs just going to greet the other dog or not so I don't do it. I no longer go to off leash parks, generally speaking the people I've met there are total douche bags.

Heres one small example of many: Years ago I have my dog on leash at the off leash park like usual and there are two guys sitting on a bench with their dogs playing off in the distance. I'm walking down the path past the bench and one of the dogs comes and starts sniffing my dog. I stop and let them sniff each other then one of the guys on the bench is like, "Ya, would you mind moving along there I don't really want your dog near mine". Keep in mind his offleash dog is the one that approached my leashed one..... I told him to get fucked but these are the kind of idiots I've encountered numerous times. It's not worth going there as I think it lowers my IQ every time I go there trying to comprehend the BS coming out of mouths of these arrogant pricks.
