as much as i love the original ae86. if it looks like this and under performs like that, even if it is cheap, im going to have to pass. it bears no resemblance to the original and just looks like a photoshop of different japanese sports cars on the market now. the subie version might be more interesting as i've read that they will have an sti version.

Wow.. the orange one screams Genesis coupe..

I hope they won't put in the 2.4 camry engine in it like they did with the tC

kinda fugly, and it sounds like it will be over priced and under powered.

it really will have to be cheaper and faster than a Gen coupe. It'll have to come out before nissan brings out any 'new silvia' that I hope they'll bring out.

should be interesting to see what they do to the headlights and interior, to get people to even consider buying this.

really? just wondering if you have anything online to back this up because everywhere i've been reading says it's only a 2.0L so i assumed it was going to be an ej20 variant of some sort.... but i've also read other posts about it being supercharged... can a boxer engine be supercharged?

another youtube video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0iGS...layer_embedded

someone translated a bit of it:
Quote:
this is a world premiere for this concept, the development code 086a comes from sharing the same lightweight sports concept as the levin/trueno, suspension is front struts rear double wishbone, tire size is 225/40/19, 4 pot front and 2 pot rear by advics, engine is a flat 4 from subaru.. that's all she says.

The GT5 demo vid was taken down, but here it is again in HQ:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87oc5...045&feature=iv

Man, I love the sound of that (bahahah 4AGE!) engine, and that last part where the AE86 was chasing it was very, very cool.

Then again, this is more or less the Celica's replacement, so it's the FT86 Celica Trueno now? hahaha

more speculation about the engine:

http://www.ft-86.com/showthread.php?t=246

Quote:
D-4S is basically an advanced variant of Toyota’s D-4 direct injection system. You might have noticed D-4D badging on local Toyota Hilux pickups – that’s their diesel direct injection. D-4 is basically gasoline

direct injection, and D-4S stands for D-4 Superior. D-4S combines both direct injection and conventional port injection for each cylinder which means two injectors per cylinder, or eight injectors if the engine is a 4-cylinder boxer like the FT-86 production car will have. The system will pick between the two types of injectors according to needs.
