injector size for turbo heyo I have #28 (294cc) injectors and #19 (192cc) injectors im running a 50 trim turbo and only 6psi, but at the moment 4psi until i fix the tune, anywho what should I use, should i use the small or bigger ones. Im running a not so good tune on a 2.8mfi do you think the #19 will be alright with my application thanx the #28 are in the car its running a little rich and bogging, should try both and see which ones i like, I do have a AFR _________________ |
You also need the duty cycle.. also what kind of ECU you are running.. or what kind of car you are running. In the end, you need to know the turbo size.. cfm etc.. so you can optimize for the best hp for the volume of air you are pushing.. so a lot of specifications and some math required. |
I would go with the bigger injectors and a good tune. An experienced tuner can tune with the bigger injectors and still get a good idle and throttle response. Of course, this all depends on ecu, car... some other factors. |
6psi? why even boost. |
Some factory management systems have enough headroom as stock to support 5-7psi, that might mean 40+hp. Not totally pointless, but relatively. I can say even 28's are entirely to small for basically any 4 cylinder turbo motor. |
He has a 2.8liter v6 hoping to make something like 100hp over stock I told him 28 lbs aren't very big anyways but other opinions are always nice I suppose.. |
750CC and tuned with something other than a piggyback. You need to have the injectors scaled properly and have proper fuel control, otherwise kiss your motor goodbye. |
28# injectors on a 6 cylinder turbo car will be good for about 250hp. However you can't just swap around injectors without calibrating the ecu. The best way to choose fuel injector sizes is to pick the smallest size injector that will satisfy the power your car will reach. It will make it much easier to tune. You definately don't need 750cc injectors for the power you're going to be making. |
Oh yes, I failed to notice 6 psi. I assumed with a 50 trim there would be loftier ambitions. 6 PSI with the 50 = snooze. |
