I've got 3.25 up and .13 down.

!Aznboi128 10-26-2009 12:39 PM

on the usb stick I get 2+ for down and .2+for up

SkinnyPupp 10-26-2009 07:23 PM

It seems that Rogers users are getting decent speeds with a USB adapter, but not their phones. What gives?

+Kardboard+ 10-26-2009 08:02 PM

Discrimination, that's what. i'm posting this at a quarter of the advertised available speed (7.2 Mbps) and half of what my phone is capable of (3.6 Mbps). :lol

Let's not even get started about the 21 Mbps HSPA+ that we just got here.

Not all phones are capable of 7.2 HSPA whereas USB adapters have been 7.2 HSPA capable for quite a while.

SkinnyPupp 11-02-2009 04:30 AM

You'd think that most people would be getting results more than half a meg per second though.

With the new N97 v20 firmware:

Weird...so this is the 3G speedtest on my Fido iPhone:

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/IMG_0136.png

And this is the 3G speedtest on my laptop tethered to my iPhone via USB:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/788217452.png

I ran the test multiple times on both devices and the numbers don't change much. Weird that my tethered speed is slower.

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2010 02:17 AM

I guess tethering slows it down somehow.

My "7.2 Mbps" speed has never gone over 2 Mbps. EVER.

asian_XL 04-20-2010 03:43 AM

^ I am using 3 USB stick

I got 500kb/s in central area sometimes. Average is like 100kb/s

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2010 03:56 AM

Ouch

I ran speedtest.net on the free Smartone laptop they have at APM, and it got like 5 Mbps.

This is ridiculous. I get a shitty 155KB/s on 3G and with 3g Off) I can't seem to test wifi. Hmm

w00tgasm 04-20-2010 05:36 PM

Funny thing is, the upload on 3G is faster than WiFi.

Installed a new firmware today, I'll see if it improves the speed later

SkinnyPupp 04-20-2010 07:19 PM
