Text messaging to the States

I called up Rogers for some text messaging rates from Canada to the States.

They told me:

$10 for 20 MSGS
$20 for 50 MSGS

My friend who is on the Fido network told me that he pays $5 and got 10 MSGS, wtf?

Also, is there any alternative route to messaging someone in the States?

Well its two different things..the pay per use cost from can-us is 25cents..when ur in the states its 75 cents

Not so sure for rogers or the packages for it when ur in the states tho

But those prices seem its for roaming text when ur outside canada rather than long distance text while ur in canada

Are you sure? It used to be about 55c per text when I texted Canada from USA last year, found out the hard way. (I'm on Bell)
